I had Oscar and his crew do a open cell spray foam on my attic space project and it turned out wonderful. They did a awesome job with pricing, quality, cleanup and great communication. I will definitely be using your service again for future projects. Thanks Oscar to you and your team job well done! 💯

david wrench★★★★★2 months ago

Oscar and his crew were very professional and very dedicated hard-working professionals that did a great job, especially under the hottest working conditions of the year in very confined spaces. Workmanship was excellent They arrived on time and stayed until the job was completely finished. We could not have been more satisfied with the work effort and a professional attitude during the process. We had several estimates and some were very insane. Estimates Oscar estimate was very reasonable because of being in the Construction business myself, I realize the magnitude of the work most people don’t realize the magnitude of some of the work that is required to do the jobs, especially under the hottest conditions of the year

These guys were great to work with! Small family owned business just like myself! I had a difficult project for them as I had 16x16ft hexagon lights already hanging in my shop which Oscar was eager to come and set eyes on the job I which he was confident it wouldn't be an issue. I helped them take lights down as well as put them back up to make it as easy as possible for them to do an amazing job, and that they did! Thank you guys for honoring your price even though it took longer to finish(left at 930pm) which I greatly appreciate as a business owner myself I get when this type of stuff happens on a job and I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Tony and his crew from Insulation Commandos transformed my crawl space from a scary mess into something far cleaner, more organized, and much more effective for moisture control. They worked around my schedule, arrived exactly when they said they would, and used high-quality materials to get the job done right—in just one day. The improvement is so impressive, I might even be brave enough to step inside someday! I highly recommend Tony and the team at Insulation Commandos for their professionalism, efficiency, and quality work.

Had the plastic sheets on our crawl space dirt floor replaced and upgraded with new, thicker, better vapor barrier that is sealed to walls and pillars. Also added a commercial dehumidifier to address summertime dampness. Tony’s team of Chris, Patrick and Parker were here for about 8 hours. I inspected at completion and they immediately took care of a few issues. Looking forward to reorganizing and using my dry, clean new looking crawl space for storage. Thanks guys!

We recently solicited several estimates for sealing our attic and upgrading the insulation. After careful consideration, we ultimately did not chose to go with Insulation Commandos of Raleigh-Durham but we felt compelled to leave them a glowing reference based on our interactions with Chris. Chris, came to our home and gave us an honest and complete assessment of our attic and provided us a very competitive quotation while he was here. In addition, he answered all of our questions and we felt that he was very honest and straightforward. We feel Chris is someone you can trust in this industry. As mentioned earlier, we ultimately chose another company because we felt that it better addressed our particular needs but these folks were a very close second. We would have no hesitation in recommending Insulation Commandos to anyone in need of an attic insulation upgrade.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this company! First, their price was unbeatable (we got five quotes). Second, their commitment to customer satisfaction was truly exceptional. We hired them to encapsulate our crawlspace—they installed a new vapor barrier, removed the old floor insulation, added foam board on the walls, installed a dehumidifier, and more. When the dehumidifier produced a slight humming sound, the owner came out multiple times to make sure it wasn’t bothering us. They even added extra insulation to reduce the noise—at no additional cost. It’s rare to find a company that combines great pricing with outstanding service. I give them an A++ and would recommend them without hesitation!

We wanted to seal the crawlspace of our new house in September, and I contacted five different companies to come out and give me quotes. There are a variety of techniques out there (encapsulated, HVAC open/closed, dehumidifier or not, etc) which was difficult to navigate. Chris from Livegreen came out and explained their process thoroughly yet simply, sharing pictures of what to expect as he explained. As well as being the most competitive price, we decided that the Livegreen method sounded like the one with the least amount of hassle/maintenance (no dehumidifier maintenance). The week before we moved in, Livegreen came by and cleaned out the crawlspace and sealed it. The team was professional and friendly and did a fantastic job. The crawlspace looks great and 3+ months on we are very happy with it. It is so nice to have a clean, sealed space under the house if you have the unfortunate need to go crawling around in there (our plumbers were very happy too). It supposedly helps with electricity bills as well, but of course we have no prior bills to compare it to. Nonetheless, we happily recommend the Livegreen team!

Chris from Live Green just came out to inspect my crawl space. I was sure it had mold and standing water (as another company told me last week). Chris said he found no mold, no water. He talked with me at length and said that our home does not need work in the crawl space. He was the most honest, knowledgeable, helpful person. Use this company. Tell your friends!

Dave and the team were easy to work with, responsive with questions and timely with their completion of the project. They installed the glass shower enclosure quickly and at an excellent price as well. Would use them again in the future and would recommend them for friends and family!

Tri City did a great job on our attic. They showed up on time, put down plastic and protective measures, and were finished quickly. The installation team asked me to check their work and made some final touch ups and were done quickly! Great experience all around.

Had spray foam and crawlspace plastic installed. Worked with Brian and Nathan. Both were great to work with. Plenty of communication back and forth. Nathan did a really nice job cutting in the plastic around the piers. Would recommend them.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Holly Springs

These are the questions Holly Springs homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 33% typical energy savings. Compare the 8 verified Holly Springs contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Holly Springs?▼
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Holly Springs, NC, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in NC see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Holly Springs?▼
In mixed-humid climates like Holly Springs, NC, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in NC's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Holly Springs, NC?▼
In Holly Springs, NC and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Holly Springs costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Holly Springs homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Holly Springs, NC?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Holly Springs, NC, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Holly Springs contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Holly Springs for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
