Attic Doctor helped with mold removal in my attic, and the whole experience was excellent. Jay and his team were great to work with from start to finish. Jay was very responsive and clearly explained the issue and the steps they would take, and the pricing was much more reasonable compared to other companies I contacted. His team worked efficiently, and did a thorough job. They were professional and respectful throughout the process. I also really appreciated that Jay provided detailed before-and-after photos, which made it easy to see the original condition and exactly what was cleaned and removed. I’m very satisfied with the results and would definitely recommend Attic Doctor.

Attic Doctor did an insulation job (and air sealing) at my home and I couldn't be happier with the results. They were communicative throughout the entire process, keeping me informed and answering all my questions clearly. What really impressed me was their integrity. During installation, they discovered several exhaust vent ducts that weren't up to code. Instead of charging extra to fix it, they corrected it for free since they hadn't caught it during the estimate. This kind of honesty is hard to find. The work itself was very thorough and well-done. The crew was professional, respectful of property, and left everything clean. Riley and Jay checked in often during the job to ensure things were being executed correctly. They clearly take pride in their work. If you need attic insulation in the area, I highly recommend Attic Doctor! They combine great quality work with honest business practices. I would definitely use them again.

After doing our due diligence we chose Attic Dr to remove/clean debris from the attic and crawl space, remediate some areas that had mold, remove all old insulation and install new R-38 attic insulation. Both attic and crawl space had all openings sealed and rodent traps were set in place. From start to finish we were very pleased with their process. Pictures of the entire attic and crawl space before, during and after the work was done were reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. They were professional, responded to any questions we had in a timely manner and left the area around our residence neat and tidy.

My interactions with Northwest Crawl Space were among the all-time best customer service moments I've ever experienced, and that's after forty years of doing business in general. Their estimate was spot-on accurate, their team lead was friendly and professional, they were not only on time for an 8:00 AM start time but they were EARLY, ensuring that they were actually STARTING at 8:00. Their follow-up services have been excellent, Savannah at their offices has been responsive and detail-oriented, and, it almost goes without saying, the work they did was great--done well, done in a timely manner, and done to my satisfaction. I wholeheartedly endorse this company and its personnel. If all service businesses were this professional, I'd sing their praises, too. Northwest Crawl Space earned this review in spades.

We live over a natural spring that constantly Floods our crawlspace. I had about 10 bids and NW Crawl was the most comprehensive quote showing detail in the work they would perform. Matan made it easy to understand and was helpful in adding or removing recommended items to the job. He showed me that my floor ducts were leaking and should be insulated, we agreed and since they fixed those our heat usage went way down and we are getting quality heat. The video attached is the finished crawl space with brand new sump pump system and vapor barrier. That clear water glass pictured was from the inside of the sump basin showing how filtered the water was in our previously dirty and gross crawlspace. These guys were great when they installed the system. The job took 8 hours and they were polite and left the house clean. Highly recommend working with these guys.

We had Northwest Crawl Space Services do a complete remediation of the crawl space under our 70-year-old house and couldn’t be happier! They were thorough, fast, and the price came in considerably lower than the competition. The team finished the project in one day and the outcome was incredible.

We invited 5 quotes for insulation in a small carport reno project. We required spray foam to meet flood permit requirements. A&E was the only one who knew the requirements well and suggested we only needed the spray to a certain height and could then use traditional insulation to continue to the ceiling. We confirmed with the inspector while A&E estimator was on-site and proceeded with the quote. As a result of that suggestion, A&E saved us a great deal of money over all the other quotes who suggested spraying floor to ceiling. We were impressed and awarded them the work. Once complete, the county inspector indicated the work was very good and exceeded expectations. We recommend A&E 👍

[Review for engagement - not for service] We didn't end up moving forward with this company, but our engagement with Ernie was great! He was fast in communication, and fair in his assessment/quote. For those who are collecting multiple bids for projects, I'd definitely recommend a chat with Ernie!

Angel and crew were very friendly, professional and did a great job redoing our crawlspace and siding. We were able to schedule a few weeks out but Angel attended to the more pressing needs (raccoon infestation) quickly to help eliminate odors and droppings. Good communication with office admin for payment, and very helpful with applying for insulation rebates through utility companies.

I E-mailed PNW Eco Insulation about an estimate for blowing in insulation in my attic space above my garage. They responded quickly and we set a time that worked for both of us. They showed up on time. They inspected my attic space and gave me an estimate.. they also told me about a huge rebate that I could receive from my gas company. On the day they came to blow in my insulation again they showed up on time. They were have some problems with the blower machine and the Forman informed me that he did not like the way the blower was laying in the insulation. He told me that they need to stop and go rent a new blower. They returned an hour later to finish the job and he still was not happy with the rented machine. I informed me that they could not finish and would come back in the morning with a new machine. They did return and did a great job. I was very impressed by the professionalism their installers possessed. I would highly recommend them to all my neighbors.

Angel’s crew was punctual, efficient, and reliable. They performed the work on time and under budget and were happy to answer any questions throughout the process. What work they outsourced to subs was also exemplary. I would recommend their services to anyone in the area!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Bellevue

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Bellevue?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Bellevue, WA typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Bellevue?
For most homes in Bellevue, WA, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
