I do not write reviews very often, but I recently had a very good experience with Green Factor and in particular I wanted to give credit to a number of their team members. I recently had Green Factor convert my attic from fiberglass insulation to foam. Clint, who is one of their sales representatives, very promptly replied to my request for a quote and offered me a detailed plan. Adam and his team, who did the work, left behind very little for me to clean up, which is a sign of how careful they were. I should also mention that Stephanie was very gracious and communicative when scheduling the work. As the home owner, I am very satisfied with Green Factor's work, as it has transformed my attic from a place that I was reluctant to set foot in, to an attractive space.

Chris and Jesus were fantastic! They arrived right on time and were extremely professional throughout the entire process. I was impressed by how quickly they worked—they actually finished the removal ahead of schedule. What really stood out was the care they took with my home. They taped down plastic wrap throughout the work area, which made the final cleanup incredibly easy. If you need insulation work done, I highly recommend this crew!

I had insulation blown into my attic (my house is approximately 80 years old) I had practically zero insulation. I improved that with an R-49. What a difference. Ricky and his crew were very professional, friendly,on time and did everything they said they would. Paige (in the office) was very professional and helpful too. Highly recommend this company! Thank you!!

My house was built in 1950’s, I’ve owned it for 6 years, and no matter how hard I cleaned there was a slight old type of smell in the house. It bothered me so much. Also, my second story took hours to cool off and my utility bills are outrageous in the summer. Well A Plus Insulation and the very thorough crew Antonio and Edwin completely solved those two problems. They removed some old looking mulch like insulation in my first story attic! That was the smell. They air sealed my HVAC ducts, air sealed my attic floor, and completely filled my attics with insulation! The air quality in my home is amazing! Antonio and Edwin were very nice, professional, and hard workers! They were a treat. I can finally say I am comfortable in my home and I believe my bills will start dropping. Thank you A Plus Insulation

We got 3 fireplaces from Hinges when we built and their prices beat the other guys by a ton! They were easy to work with on install as well as call-backs for the punch list. Today I was having trouble dismantling fireplaces to clean them, and Cyndi at the front desk took the time to walk me through, and even had me send pictures to her personal cell so she could help me. She could have easily had me make an appointment for a service call a month from now, but she didn’t. I highly recommend these guys!

As a builder, Henges is our preferred insulation company. Larry and Doug make scheduling a breeze. Their installers show up on time and ensure there are our houses are insulated to meet energy efficiency standards time after time again. Their crews are professional and trustworthy. If you're needing any sort of insulation solution, I highly recommend you give them a call.

Couldn’t have had a better dealing with Henges, called and had a quote the same day. Was contacted the following business day for scheduling and they actually came the following day to insulate. Great commendation and fair priced. Workers were courteous and the final product looks awesome!

I reached out to Black Gold to get some more insulation installed in my house. I was put on the schedule less than a week out and everyone I spoke to was helpful and knowledgeable. The install took less than 1 1/2 hours and the workers left no mess and took before and after photos for me. I would highly recommend going with Black Gold for any insulation needs. Blake was very helpful with the scheduling & Michael and Reynaldo were great installers.

Very happy with Black Gold. Blake was a pleasure to work with and the crew did a great job! Very prompt on getting the initial estimate and worked me in to their busy schedule quickly. Would highly recommend.

Michael and Jay completed our blown-in insulation for our new house and did a great job. They added extra insulation around our plumbing and made sure the house would be set for all weather! They even cleaned up their trash before they left - in a construction site! Would recommend!

They went above and beyond our expectations! Would definitely use this company again, both affordable and quality of work was good. We hired them for a "new construction insulation" up to code. They were very fast and did an excellent job

I was paired up with Williams through an energy audit provider for Evergy. On the morning of my insulation, Williams called me to confirm timing. I attempted to confirm the services being provided when they informed me the intermediary changed the services so they could do half (kneewall overlay) and Williams would do the blown in part. This didn't make sense to me as once you blow in the new insulation you don't want to disturb it. In the end Williams went above and beyond making sure I was taken care of and even recommending additional areas that could use more insulation that were not on the audit report. I would highly recommend Williams for your insulation needs.

VERY POOR SERVICE!! We chose them to install our gutters and signed a contract. We removed our old gutters the day before they were scheduled to come out and install the new ones but they didn't show. They strung us along for over 2 month before they finally told us they were not going to do the job. Now we are stuck without gutters. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Lenexa

These are the questions Lenexa homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 35% typical energy savings. Compare the 5 verified Lenexa contractors above for exact quotes.

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Lenexa?▼
Homeowners in mixed climates like Lenexa, KS typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Lenexa?▼
For most homes in Lenexa, KS, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Lenexa, KS?▼
In Lenexa, KS and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Lenexa costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Lenexa homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Lenexa, KS?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Lenexa, KS, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Lenexa contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Lenexa for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
