I have used this company twice to have the absolute best insulation system installed in our newly constructed home. Their employee's are very long term and very knowledgable about the product and how it should be installed. They did a completely custom install according to my wishes. Choose a company with a proven track record ie- Paradise Foam!

Great company. Very professional. Owner is great to deal with. Very accommodating. Quoted me a price right over the phone and that’s the price I paid. Very reasonable compared to other companies. His crew showed up on time and when finished, took pictures of the work to show me. Both guys were very courteous, friendly and personable. I would definitely recommend Blown Away Insulation for anyone looking to insulate their house.

We are absolutely blown away “no pun” by this company and what they were able to do to our properties. It’s ice cold in the end of July in our rentals and home now. Before today’s visit, the air hung at 76 in the heat of the day. All our air was escaping. 71 is our new constant reading on the 1960’s home thermostat today. Almost magic. I spoke with Steve the owner over the phone for my initial quote. This man is a master of his craft, he can tell you ANYTHING you’d like to know about insulation and value differences. What’s a waste, and what’s going to benefit you. It was nice having many options. He’s very personable and easy to talk to, has zero sales pressure and no annoying pitches. “Old friend” vibe. After speaking with 4 other companies, he wiped the floor with them on pricing. Jay and the other Steve (technician) were the two who did all of the install for us. These guys are some seriously hard workers, they get in and get done. We were greeted with handshakes and smiles, personable and trustworthy vibes from every point of contact from Blown Away Insulation. We will be forever customers, and will recommend to all of our friends and neighbors. Thanks again!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Port Charlotte

Below are common questions Port Charlotte, FL homeowners ask about spray foam insulation cost, types, and installation. For local pricing and to compare verified contractors in Port Charlotte, browse the listings above.

Is spray foam insulation a good choice in hot and humid climates like Port Charlotte?
Absolutely. Hot and humid climates like Port Charlotte, FL are actually where spray foam insulation delivers some of its best results. Closed-cell spray foam acts as both an insulation layer and a moisture/vapor barrier, preventing the humidity infiltration that causes mold, rot, and air conditioning inefficiency. Homeowners in FL typically see 20–35% reductions in cooling costs after installation. One important note: because spray foam creates a tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is essential in humid climates to manage interior moisture from daily activities like cooking and bathing.
What type of spray foam is best for homes in Port Charlotte?
In hot and humid climates like Port Charlotte, FL, closed-cell spray foam is generally recommended for exterior walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Its high density creates a moisture barrier critical in humid environments. Open-cell foam can be used in interior walls for soundproofing and actually allows some vapor movement, which can be beneficial in certain wall assemblies. A qualified local contractor can assess your specific home and recommend the best approach.
Can spray foam insulation help reduce my AC bills in Port Charlotte?
Yes — significantly. Air conditioning accounts for the majority of energy costs in hot climates like Port Charlotte, FL. Spray foam seals all gaps and cracks that allow conditioned air to escape, which is the primary cause of high AC bills. Most homeowners in hot climates report 20–30% reductions in cooling costs after spray foam installation.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Port Charlotte, FL?
In Port Charlotte, FL and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Port Charlotte costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Port Charlotte homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Port Charlotte, FL?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Port Charlotte, FL, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Port Charlotte contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Port Charlotte for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
