Very professional and knowledgeable. The team, Davia & Luigi showed up on time, explained how the process works and went on their way to complete the job. Highly recommend Koala Insulation of West Florida and the crew of Davia & Luigi!

We hired Koala Insulation after our HVAC company recommended them to top off the insulation in our 30 year old house. From the very start of my initial call to scheduling to have them come out, Koala was polite, professional and their communication was beyond fantastic. Koala provided us with an estimates on two options. While we had initially decided on just having additional insulation blown in over our preexisting insulation, we decided to change course and went with also having insulation installed over the garage and having the foam board added to our garage door. Communication day before and day of install was outstanding and Johan showed up on time and explained the entire process. Installation was efficient and done quickly and everything was cleaned up. Well done Koala, we highly recommend them and you won’t be disappointed.

Koala insulation is a company I would recommend to my friends. The person who came to estimate the job was very thorough and answered all my questions. The installers were hard working and efficient and the job was finished in a few hours.

For my fellow WSTL drivers: Very easy to get to location. GPS correct. I-75 exit 193 ( Jacaranda Blvd) to Commerce Dr. I arrived about an hour early for my 9am appointment , checked in inside and had my arrival time on my shipping papers verified with a signature.. just to be sure. I was told they would come out to get me when they got their trucks loaded and out on the road for deliveries. Waiting on the road with flashers for around 30-45 minutes. Backed into dock 30 minutes before actual delivery time…it was awhile before they got started unloading me. It’s tight in the yard but they instruct to pull up beside two trailers and do an almost straight line back… pretty easy but tight with 53 ft. trailer . He said it might take about an hour to unload. Really nice people. Good experience. Thanks everyone!

We had a great experience with Mike from Jansen & Sons. When the builder of our new home would not install two front gutters because it was out of their scope of work we called Mike. He came the next morning to install the two gutters before the heavy rain was to come through. The work was fast and quality is great! Thank you Mike for helping us in a pinch!

Yoder Homes and Remodeling subcontracted this company to install gutters on one of their remodel sites. Jansen & Sons employees made no real effort to clean up before leaving the project. First of all they were mostly parked in the street with their truck to do their work which was not a real issue. Paint cans and diagrams with their measurements written on card board was some of their trash left on the ground. What took the cake was the amount of screws they left all over the road that were perfect for puncturing tires. I stopped counting after 40 screws. The crew has no professionalism for their work and no respect for the neighborhood they worked in. I'm sure any of the car owners that got a flat tire would like to send Jansen & Sons the tire repair bill if they knew the screws came from these careless workers. After reading other Jansen & Sons google reviews I can see many negative reviews. Its clear to many this company does not really care about their reputation as long as they get work, IMHO. I would hope Yoder Homes will find better subcontractors in the future. See attached pictures

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Sarasota

These are the questions Sarasota homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 30% typical energy savings. Compare the 4 verified Sarasota contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good choice in hot and humid climates like Sarasota?
Absolutely. Hot and humid climates like Sarasota, FL are actually where spray foam insulation delivers some of its best results. Closed-cell spray foam acts as both an insulation layer and a moisture/vapor barrier, preventing the humidity infiltration that causes mold, rot, and air conditioning inefficiency. Homeowners in FL typically see 20–35% reductions in cooling costs after installation. One important note: because spray foam creates a tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is essential in humid climates to manage interior moisture from daily activities like cooking and bathing.
What type of spray foam is best for homes in Sarasota?
In hot and humid climates like Sarasota, FL, closed-cell spray foam is generally recommended for exterior walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Its high density creates a moisture barrier critical in humid environments. Open-cell foam can be used in interior walls for soundproofing and actually allows some vapor movement, which can be beneficial in certain wall assemblies. A qualified local contractor can assess your specific home and recommend the best approach.
Can spray foam insulation help reduce my AC bills in Sarasota?
Yes — significantly. Air conditioning accounts for the majority of energy costs in hot climates like Sarasota, FL. Spray foam seals all gaps and cracks that allow conditioned air to escape, which is the primary cause of high AC bills. Most homeowners in hot climates report 20–30% reductions in cooling costs after spray foam installation.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Sarasota, FL?
In Sarasota, FL and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Sarasota costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Sarasota homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Sarasota, FL?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Sarasota, FL, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Sarasota contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Sarasota for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
