Absolutely recommend these guys over and over. I contacted Andre asking about attic insulation and crawlspace work. He was very knowledgeable and when it came time for the quote he found out I was eligible for a rebate from PSE. Saved me a lot of money and when the crews came out to do the work, they were able to get everything done in a day! They removed the old insulation and did blow in for the attic And new insulation and liner for the crawlspace. Very happy!!

I had Insulation NW come out for a bid after discovering my crawl space had been deteriorating for quite a while with critters pulling down insulation, etc. It was a big mess and a big job. I had a quote from a Pest Control Co that was more than twice the price that Insulation NW quoted. And, they made me aware of an energy credit from PSE that was available if I got this work done. The three men who came for the day worked very hard and efficiently taking bags and bags of toxic insulation out and rebuilt the whole 2000 Sqft crawl space to my relief and satisfaction. I was very pleased with the result. My home heats up and retains heat remarkably better. The company has been great at communicating with me. I asked for before and after pictures which they promptly provided. Definitely recommend Insulation NW if you need this kind of work done.

Insulation NW did a great job with my attic restoration, and helping to coordinate other contractors. I had an issue with my roof where I noticed soft spots on it that were ultimately caused by a lack of proper attic ventilation causing moisture buildup in the attic, and Insulation NW came out, added more ventilation, coordinated the appropriate remediation specialists (even letting me invoice one of them together with Insulation NW directly to make my life easier), and was all around a great help. Then afterwards they replaced all the insulation. They were friendly, easy to work with, and I'd absolutely work with them again!

Insulation NW did a great job on my crawl space insulation remove/install. Both the estimator and the installation crew were knowledgeable, polite and they cleaned up after they finished. The price was most excellent as they included the PSE rebate in their quote.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Puyallup

These are the questions Puyallup homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 35% typical energy savings. Compare the 3 verified Puyallup contractors above for exact quotes.

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Puyallup?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Puyallup, WA typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Puyallup?
For most homes in Puyallup, WA, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Puyallup, WA?
In Puyallup, WA and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Puyallup costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Puyallup homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Puyallup, WA?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Puyallup, WA, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Puyallup contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Puyallup for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
