Sam was my salesman. Very professional guy, he had a good plan which Herman and Casey came out executed to the letter. The bottom line instead of my air conditioner running all the time it now cycles off for long periods of time during the day. They did this work over a month ago and I waited for a real hot day which we had yesterday and it was a first to put the thermostat to 75° and have it feel great inside and the A\C cycled off in the heat of the day. Great job

I am very happy with the work that USA Insulation did for my home. Sam, my salesman, did a good job of explaining the process and benefits. Casey and his crew did a thorough job and cleaned up very well after the work was done. I already notice a big improvement in the acoustics of my home, and I expect my heating and cooling bill to show some improvement as well. Thanks again guys,,,, Chip

I had USA come out install foam insulation in walls when they first got started they blew out the sheetrock in our closet got insulation all over my wife's chlothes they didn't clean up after there selves left wood plugs which they drilled out on outside of house and water bottles everywhere. And then a few weeks later I went to change out bad siding on South end of my house around 13 sheets and found walls had no insulation our maybe a two foot splat not even 30 percent of wall had insulation if any. I took pictures and sent to owner he sound he would come out and redo which I had my doubts about if they couldn't do it right the first time would would make me think they a second but any way had appointment set for two weeks later and when that time came around he said he had a material issue could get foam so we set a date for two more weeks later and couple days before I texted him asked if we where still on and no reply next day asked when he would be there tomorrow no reply do of installation no reply called and texted him and I have tried to call and text him many more times with no reply. I would run from this company very unprofessional every time I try to contact somebody I get voice-mail just a scam.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in McKinney

These are the questions McKinney homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 27% typical energy savings. Compare the 3 verified McKinney contractors above for exact quotes.

Does spray foam insulation work well in hot dry climates like McKinney?
Yes — spray foam is highly effective in hot dry climates like McKinney, TX. While moisture control is less of a concern than in humid climates, the air sealing properties are critical for keeping hot desert air out and cooled air in. In extreme heat climates, an unsealed attic can reach 150°F+, dramatically increasing AC load. Spray foam in the attic can reduce attic temperatures by 30–40°F.
What is the best area of my home to insulate in McKinney?
In hot dry climates like McKinney, TX, the attic is typically the highest-impact area to spray foam insulate. Desert sun heats roofs to extreme temperatures, and an uninsulated attic transfers that heat directly into your living space. After the attic, crawl spaces and rim joists are the next highest-impact areas. A local contractor can perform an energy audit to identify where your home loses the most conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in McKinney, TX?
In McKinney, TX and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in McKinney costs $2,000–$6,000. Most McKinney homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in McKinney, TX?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in McKinney, TX, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified McKinney contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in McKinney for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
