I called four Insulation companies to provide a quote for blown in R30 fiberglass for five multi family rental properties and foam insolation for my personal home. All four answered the phone and said a salesman would get back to me soon. Ken Roberts from Leeds called within an hour, while the others took until the next day or so to get back to me. Mr. Roberts took my information and had estimates for all the properties to me by the end of the day. That was unbelievable. In discussing the estimates he said that Mel (the scheduler) said they could do all the rentals the same week. I am sure this is not the normal scheduling but was welcomed. I received the other estimates and Leeds was very competitive but their communication skills was what has impressed me the most. Tyler who stands 6'3" called me to let me know he was going to be at the rental properties. That was impressive because the crawl space was 24" and was not easy!! The last thing was when Joseph showed up at my house to spray the foam insulation in my attic. He was alone because his partner could not make it that day but he did not want to put the company behind. He said the owners of the company treat the employees well and enjoys working there. That was refreshing to hear. I called the owner to tell him of my experience and he actually answered the phone on the second ring. Value, communication and Quality was my experience with Leeds Insulation.

Us coding specialist is the premier roof coating specialist in the state of Florida. We are the best by far we do a great job for a great price and we do it in a timely manner as long as the weather is good. The weather is the only thing that can throw us off our schedule but other than that we still try to close the job on the correct date. I would recommend us coatings to my grandmother or my mother or father or anyone that I personally know I would recommend them 100%. Anthony the owner will bend over backwards to make sure that your job comes out 100% correct and with a 20-year warranty. You cannot beat that combination anywhere!

I have nothing but the highest praise for this company. We have an old commercial building with a flat metal roof. A competitor of US Coating Specialists sprayed my exterior roof with closed cell foam and told me it would never leak again. I didn't know much at that time about the experience, expertise, and quality of product that is required for a good exterior roof foam job. Boy do I know now! The first company sprayed inferior foam with poor equipment, poor preparation, poor technique, and then covered it with inferior sealant. The job they did was terrible. They did not seal the metal roof seams while blocking drainage flow at the same time. Then they tried to fix the problem by spraying more foam on top of the old original bad job. The result was that my whole roof leaked at every seam! It was a disaster. US Coating Specialists are actually located near our building and stopped by when they saw the tarps on our roof. Thank the Lord they Did! The whole previous job had to be removed and done again properly. I watched both companies do the job from start to finish and could see the clear difference in everything that was done. US Coating Specialists has high quality spray rigs dedicated to each product they spray. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and care about their customers. They took care to minimize foam over spray and to clean up the mess as they went. And most importantly, the job they did was excellent. No Leaks! I highly recommend US Coating Specialists.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Fort Pierce

Below are common questions Fort Pierce, FL homeowners ask about spray foam insulation cost, types, and installation. For local pricing and to compare verified contractors in Fort Pierce, browse the listings above.

Is spray foam insulation a good choice in hot and humid climates like Fort Pierce?
Absolutely. Hot and humid climates like Fort Pierce, FL are actually where spray foam insulation delivers some of its best results. Closed-cell spray foam acts as both an insulation layer and a moisture/vapor barrier, preventing the humidity infiltration that causes mold, rot, and air conditioning inefficiency. Homeowners in FL typically see 20–35% reductions in cooling costs after installation. One important note: because spray foam creates a tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is essential in humid climates to manage interior moisture from daily activities like cooking and bathing.
What type of spray foam is best for homes in Fort Pierce?
In hot and humid climates like Fort Pierce, FL, closed-cell spray foam is generally recommended for exterior walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Its high density creates a moisture barrier critical in humid environments. Open-cell foam can be used in interior walls for soundproofing and actually allows some vapor movement, which can be beneficial in certain wall assemblies. A qualified local contractor can assess your specific home and recommend the best approach.
Can spray foam insulation help reduce my AC bills in Fort Pierce?
Yes — significantly. Air conditioning accounts for the majority of energy costs in hot climates like Fort Pierce, FL. Spray foam seals all gaps and cracks that allow conditioned air to escape, which is the primary cause of high AC bills. Most homeowners in hot climates report 20–30% reductions in cooling costs after spray foam installation.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Fort Pierce, FL?
In Fort Pierce, FL and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Fort Pierce costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Fort Pierce homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Fort Pierce, FL?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Fort Pierce, FL, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Fort Pierce contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Fort Pierce for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
