Spray Foam Insulation in Palo Alto, CA

We’ve been thrilled with our decision, 28 years ago, to have Dura-Foam replace our (leaking) gravel roof with foam. It’s been trouble-free ever since. Last year, we arranged for a re-coat and, as we’ve had such good experiences with this company, trusted them to install solar panels as well. We’re happy to report that our re-coat is beautiful and the solar system is up, running, and working great. Kudos to the team for their professionalism, diligence, and for completing the project in a timely manner. Everyone was easy to communicate and work with, and we are very pleased and grateful for everything Dura-Foam has done to improve our home.

I had a foam roof put on my house 27 years ago by Dura-Foam. I just had my second silicone coating put on in that time period. They pressure washed, replaced spouts, did a touch up repair, and then recoated it. I am very happy with Dura-Foam's work throughout the process. I would diffidently recommend them.

I too had a skylight leak 3 & 1/2 years after my roof was done. They fixed it. For the people who need theirs done just keep calling - they will schedule you. It is like anything these days - just follow up and it will get done. The guys who came out where super respectful and it took all of 5 minutes to have the repair done. The foam keeps our house 15 degrees cooler in the summer and the same with the heat - lots of $ saved there!!

I hired these guys to put 1 1/2 inches of foam over my existing foam roof. I had leaky drains and wanted them to be repaired and sealed properly. I also wanted any areas of blistered foam removed and recoated, and positive drainage from low areas. They promised two coats of sealant (1.5gal/100sq feet per coat) over the foam they were going to apply, and to tape off all the solar mounts I had on the roof. I sent my deposit and didn't receive a call for over a week. I called multiple times and finally received a call back 10 days later. On that day, Friday, they said they wanted to start Saturday morning. They were on site for no more than 4 hours Saturday, presumably power washing. Monday morning I received a message requesting full payment! They said they had worked all day Sunday and completed the job. They were on my roof all day without my knowledge or consent, and how did they get on the roof with the gates locked? I went up onto my roof to see what had been done. After I inspected the job I knew they had not delivered as promised. The drains were not sealed, the foam not applied across the roof, and the sealer paint was already completely dry (which if applied at the proper thickness should have still been wet). When confronted about it, they admitted they had not stuck to what the contract called for! I paid them less than we had contracted for, but still more than they were owed for the job they did do. I hired another contractor, who core sampled the roof. The core samples showed they had not applied 1 1/2 inch of foam anywhere on my roof. The core sample also showed they only put one coat of sealant, not two as promised. We tested the drains and they still leaked. They broke the drainage pipes from my air conditioners. They over sprayed foam onto two of my employees cars which will not come off. They only taped off half of my solar mounts and the ones they taped they did not remove the tape after. The ones not taped had foam all over them, making it a mess to try and use them. I hired another contractor who completed the job and I now have a real leak guarantee. Do not hire these people you will regret it!

American Foam Experts re-did my roof in summer of 2021. As part of the roof work, they replaced two double-bubble skylights. One of those skylights has significant cracking throughout the interior bubble (to the point where pieces are falling into the house). In June, they stated they would order a replacement and have it installed before end of October. Today (middle of November) they informed me they've changed their stance to this issue being caused by debris or tree limbs. The interior bubble has significant damage where there is no damage to the exterior bubble, and we have no trees anywhere near the rooftop. I now feel compelled to pursue remediation via CSLB and arbitration. Throughout the entire process I have had to follow up multiple times with no response, had to re-share my contract multiple times (apparently they don't keep records), and generally had a terrible experience. I would not recommend working with AFE if it can at all be avoided.
