I called for an estimate and Javier showed up on time and looked at my crawl space. He was not at all like the others that tried to push things to increase the cost. I hired them to do the job. He never asked for a down payment like others. Javier and his crew showed up to do the job on time. The day was hot and the humidity in the crawl space was terrible but his crew suited up and went down in the crawl space. They proceeded to remove the old insulation and replaced with R30 insulation, they worked quickly done in 3 hrs. They were extremely professional and after made sure everything was cleaned up. My husband and I went into the crawl space after he arrived home from work and they did an “ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JOB!!” I would highly recommend them. Thank you Javier and Crew!

First off, Javier is a class act. He was a pleasure to work with and made the process extremely easy. Before choosing his company I brought in five different outfits to bid the job and feel them out. Orange County Foam was by far the best as far as price and quality of work. If you are considering getting some work done call them first!!

OCI installed closed cell foam insulation on my exterior walls, garage ceiling, and attic during my house renovation in Hastings, NY. They were very professional, provided all the paperwork I needed to pass inspections, gave me a reasonable price, performed the work quickly, and cleaned up after themselves at the end of the job. They were thorough and sprayed even smaller miscellaneous areas before they wrapped up. Overall, a great experience.

I should have had the attic install done in the winter time. Having them install attic insulation for 4 hours (with a faulty machine) in a 130 degree attic in a San Fernando Valley summer was not a great idea. It feels like they gave up at the end (ie the vertical insulation is already falling down because they did not have the right length fiberglass and instead blew cellulose on top of it). We paid them a lot of money, and they measured our attic and had access to our attic 3 times before the insulation install. It seemed weird for them to run out of materials. I hope they will honor their warranty. Will update soon. I wish they would have installed a 3.0 Quiet Cool Fan rather than the 2.0 Quiet Cool Attic Gable Fan. That would have been better in our extremely hot climate.

Attic Projects > Inspection Review I had the pleasure of working with Vincent from Attic Projects for an attic ( and crawl space) inspection, and I can’t recommend enough. He was punctual, prepared, and extremely knowledgeable, arriving with all the proper equipment, a respirator mask, and boot covers before entering my home. He took the time to sit down with me, go over every detail item by item, and clearly explain the costs and scope of work. More importantly, he was empathetic and genuinely cared about helping me understand my situation and what steps I could take to make my home safe and habitable. I’ve had four different companies come out to inspect, and Attic Projects is the only one offering a 10-year warranty on their work. That alone speaks volumes about their confidence and quality. I haven’t hired them yet only because I’m giving my HOA one last chance to act, but based on my experience so far, Vincent and Attic Projects stand out as top-tier professionals in this field. Highly recommended.

Honored Warranty. Highly recommend! The Attic Projects team did an attic clean up, rodent proofing, air sealing ( to house) and insulation in 2022. They have a 10 year warranty vs rodents. In 2025 After hearing rat activity in the attic I went up and saw evidence of rat burrows and many droppings. Their team came out without within a few days, confirmed the recurrence, sealed up a few potential points of entry and set more traps. After continuing the catch multiple rats over extended period of time it was determined the best course of action was to remove the blown in insulation and search for all points of entry and seal those up. While no company wants to redo a job they handled it very professionally. Simply, its covered under our warranty and we will take care of it. They sent out a team removed all insulation, came back multiple times over a few weeks sealing up potential points of entry. After no more rats were caught for 2 weeks we schedule the insulation installation. The team arrived exactly at 8am, took measures to minimize contamination to the house (i.e plastic barriers), very professional and thorough. They did not solicit this review. I highly recommend this team. Peace of mind that they guarantee their work and you are dealing with professionals. I have recommended them to my neighbors and others.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Orange

Does spray foam insulation work well in hot dry climates like Orange?
Yes — spray foam is highly effective in hot dry climates like Orange, CA. While moisture control is less of a concern than in humid climates, the air sealing properties are critical for keeping hot desert air out and cooled air in. In extreme heat climates, an unsealed attic can reach 150°F+, dramatically increasing AC load. Spray foam in the attic can reduce attic temperatures by 30–40°F.
What is the best area of my home to insulate in Orange?
In hot dry climates like Orange, CA, the attic is typically the highest-impact area to spray foam insulate. Desert sun heats roofs to extreme temperatures, and an uninsulated attic transfers that heat directly into your living space. After the attic, crawl spaces and rim joists are the next highest-impact areas. A local contractor can perform an energy audit to identify where your home loses the most conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
