Used All Type Insulation to spray foam insulate my TuffShed office. David responded quickly for a quote and his pricing was fair. Communication was excellent and the crew were professional and efficient. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company for spray foam applications.

All Type Insulation removed all of the old insulation in our attic and replaced it with new insulation. The team was amicable, they did a great job and the cleanup was excellent.

Dominic was great to work with. Fair quote for our insulation needs. We had quite a bit more drywall opened after the quote was given and they worked with us to complete the job in one day and source material last minute. They left the job site clean and even hauled away old insulation.

Laura was great on the phone while providing pricing and they were able to remove decades of insulation one day and then re install the new insulation up to 2024 code after we repaired the ceilings. Thank you!

Consistently the least expensive quote ($1000 cheaper than the local warehouse store) for me and now they have insulated 2 of my homes. I couldn't be happier with their quality and service. Their installers both times were cheerful and professional and both time went the extra mile to do great work. I am always concerned about someone stepping through the drywall or not reaching for the hard to get at a tight spot, but I am really impressed with this company and don't hesitate to recommend them. They used cardboard and plastic to protect my wall corners and furniture from the hose and also to keep the hose off the carpet. They were even very careful around my plants from the hose. Thank you to J&L for your reasonable prices (I have rented a machine and done insulation myself before and it just isn't worth it to me) and the excellent service. I will be using you and referring you in the future.

This is the second time I have used J&L. They are a great company and everyone that works there is right on top of things. Jeff and Joe came out and got my job done ASAP and it went as smooth as silk. I have already recommended them to others living in my condo complex. I highly recommend them for your insulation needs.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Lakeside

These are the questions Lakeside homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 35% typical energy savings. Compare the 4 verified Lakeside contractors above for exact quotes.

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Lakeside?▼
Homeowners in mixed climates like Lakeside, CA typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Lakeside?▼
For most homes in Lakeside, CA, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Lakeside, CA?▼
In Lakeside, CA and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Lakeside costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Lakeside homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Lakeside, CA?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Lakeside, CA, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Lakeside contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Lakeside for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
