This company is amazing. We had a lot of work done to our home in November and December. One of those projects was insulation. We interviewed 10 contractors. We selected Spray on Foam and Coatings because they carry the Owns Corning Ultra-Pure closed cell spray foam. I am highly sensitive to smell, and this spray foam is currently the lowest VOC made. Most, if not all, spray foams require you to be out of the house for at least 24 hours. We have a dog and 4 cats; this was not going to happen. In addition, I would not have tolerated the smell. For this application, we only had to be out of the house for an hour, and it did not smell. Steve and his team were fantastic. For closed cell spray foam, the price was reasonable, a lot of R value for the money (this is not an inexpensive product). We highly recommend this company for any insulation needs you have.

As a Board member of Territorial Days Park we reached out for a quote on roof coating a portable building. Nick got me a quote within hours and was able to execute VERY quickly to beat the beginning of our fall rain! The building is now dry and has added insulation as well. This is my 4th interaction with this company and they never fail to deliver on time and on budget! Also super easy to work with.

We’ve used Spray On Foam & Coatings multiple times on our projects and most recently on our own shop, and they absolutely crush it every time. Their office staff - Shout out to Steve for always making it happen - and field crews are easy to work with, show up when they said they will, and do amazing, high-quality work. It’s great to have a trade partner we can trust that delivers consistent quality and stands behind their work. We’ll definitely continue working with Spray On and highly recommend them to anyone looking for insulation solutions. Ledge Construction LLC

We’ve lived in our Vancouver home for over a decade, and the insulation had definitely seen better days. Our upstairs was always either freezing or way too hot, no matter what season it was. A friend told us about Supreme Spray Foam, so we reached out. From the first call, they were friendly, professional, and super knowledgeable. They came out, inspected everything, and gave us a clear plan for what needed to be done. The crew was awesome, showed up on time, worked efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. Since they finished, the house feels so much more comfortable and we’re already seeing a difference in our energy bills. Can’t recommend Supreme Spray Foam enough, they made the whole process easy and stress-free.

Supreme Spray Foam recently completed a full spray foam job on my shop in Camas. The crew was on time, worked fast, and the results were incredible. No more drafts or moisture issues. If you're in Vancouver, Washougal, or anywhere in Clark County, Supreme Spray Foam is the company to trust.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Vancouver

These are the questions Vancouver homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 35% typical energy savings. Compare the 6 verified Vancouver contractors above for exact quotes.

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Vancouver?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Vancouver, WA typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Vancouver?
For most homes in Vancouver, WA, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Vancouver, WA?
In Vancouver, WA and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Vancouver costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Vancouver homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Vancouver, WA?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Vancouver, WA, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Vancouver contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Vancouver for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
