I needed my two workshops insulated so I called Creative Conservation in Roanoke, since they do all the work for Habitat for Humanity where I volunteer. The initial conversation with Brandon was quick and hassle free, and he made recommendations that helped me better understand the pros and cons of my options. He emailed me with a quote that night (a Tuesday) and said they could start right away. Well the first crew was here bright and early on Monday morning, as we agreed. William and Luz were great to deal with, worked hard and finished the removal of the old insulation in one day. They were very professional and also did a great job of cleanup. (Also, it’s kind of nice to see a woman in the construction industry for a change. Kind of a β€˜Flashdance’ throwback, for those of you of a certain age.) The spray insulation crew, Juan and another Brandon, showed up Tuesday morning with a different truck containing the spray equipment. They applied plastic sheeting to EVERYTHING so overspray wouldn’t get on anything, and even helped me move a bunch of my junk out of one of the shops (I thought I still had time but they needed to start on the one I hadn’t cleaned out yet). Here’s the really amazing part: the temperature was very high this week, mid to upper nineties. Juan, who did the spraying, had to don a tyvek (plastic) suit and full face mask, stand on a ladder in the peak of the roof and spray insulation (which itself comes out of the nozzle at 140 degrees) for hours. And mind you, since the entire building was covered in plastic, there was not a breath of airflow in there. I can vouch that it felt like a pizza oven. With never a complaint. Superhuman. Overall I’m extremely pleased with the job. Great job, nice people. And they even left both buildings cleaner than when they arrived. Thanks, Creative Conservation.

My wife and I moved to Arlington about a year ago and at the time passed on insulating the basement. Our home is a 1998 house built on a 1920's foundation. The insulation and attention put into insulating the basement at the time was lackluster. Coming from California, I didn't really understand what a mistake I had made until the mice found refuge in our basement this November in 2019. Needless to say, they took over, and it made for a rather unpleasant holiday. I found a great mice and rodent cleanup crew (Environmental PC) who recommended Creative Conservation, and specifically Richard Browning, who runs the Arlington area. Impressive, attentive, kind, and thorough are the best words to describe Richard and CC. Richard squeezed me into a tight slot early after the holidays to assess my place. He was prompt with the quote, answered all my questions (even down to the technical details about how the foam was made, how they transported it, how it worked etc.). I felt like he really had my interests in mind. The quote he generated was extremely reasonable. What impressed me most, however, was not just the initial service, but the execution and flexibility. Because our basement was infested, we weren't just insulating. We were getting an environmental crew to clean up, grinding and redo'ing the floors, and then foaming in the gaps all around the edges of the basement to seal out future critters. This required some schedule wrangling, and on the day that Richard's crew was supposed to show up, the basement squad was running behind. Richard knew that our family had suffered from this mice issue, and worked quickly to reschedule the foam treatment, coming in just a few days later, despite having little scheduling flexibility on the calendar. It was this effort to do the right thing and take care of us that really stuck with me. Of course, the best thing out of using Creative Conservation is that their work was incredible. They foam sealed all the corners and gaps in the basement in about an hour and a half. Our basement is now dry as a whistle (we also have sump pumps though), but before there was a serious draft due to the poor sealing that was put in during the 90's. Our de-humidifier which used to run non-stop even during the winter, hasn't come on since. Temperature wise, the basement now stays the same temp as the rest of the house. We are SO grateful to Richard and his team. HIGHLY recommend this to anyone in the Arlington area that's looking to seal their basement, keep out critters, conserve energy, and just make the basement a more pleasant place to store stuff. Attaching some photos so you can see for yourself.

I used Davenport for my new construction house. They did all of my insulation and did a fantastic job. My contact was Dustin who was great with responding and getting out to get my jobs done. They were very efficient . I would definitely recommend this company:)

Similar to others, we had a poor experience with Davenport. They quoted the job and saw the height of our crawlspace, but once they got onsite to do the job they said the crawlspace was too small. They also forgot to insulate several interior walls that we included in the quote.

I had two jobs scheduled with Davenport Insulation. The first was to get insulation blown into my uninsulated garage walls. Two men and a truck showed up to do the work. They were polite and fine, but kept telling me how it was a new truck and that they had to keep turning the pressure down. One of them was frequently on the inside of my garage pushing against the drywall. Not having this done before I didn't know if this was standard procedure. After they left I discovered that about 40% of my dry wall was blown off the studs. I have had to go back and screw the drywall back in place. My salesman, a guy named Mark, quoted me a price on seamless gutters. We scheduled a date. I called the day before to confirm I was on the schedule. He said I was. The next day no one showed. I called the office and they said I was never on the schedule. I tried to contact Mark several more times to no avail and was then told he had been replaced by Levi. I have been told 4 times by both office staff, a supervisor, and Levi, different dates where my work would be done. They have no showed on every single one. I started this process in February, it is now August and I still don't have gutters. Amendment to my review written on 24Aug2018: Even though I had asked to speak to a supervisor on my last contact with Davenport Insulation in Winchester, I was never contacted by them until I wrote this review. Mike E. contacted me within a week of this review being posted and I now have gutters. He assured me that this was an oversight brought on by my salesperson leaving and that this is not how they normally treat their customers. While that doesn't explain all the previous contacts I had, I will take them at their word. Gutters are installed.
