⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review for Spray Foam Etc. I can’t say enough great things about Spray Foam Etc. Jack was fantastic to work with—knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to finding the perfect insulation solution for my home. They insulated the eaves and roof deck of my garage, as well as my main attic, and even added extra foam under my first-floor bay window for additional insulation. They also went above and beyond by spraying foam under my HVAC system to help with sound reduction—something I truly appreciate. The entire Spray Foam Etc. team was professional, courteous, and extremely clean. They took great care to put up plastic barriers and used the right equipment to vent fumes outside, ensuring a smooth and safe process. The results are incredible—I’ve already noticed a huge improvement in both comfort and energy efficiency. If you’re considering spray foam insulation, I highly recommend them—top-notch service from start to finish!

Great place to deliver. Drivers - on the West side of the building there are 2 driveways. Enter into the first driveway closest to the building and u-turn your truck, because you are going to have to back down to their dock doors. They have doors 5 and 6. Not gonna lie, it's tight, but its doable. Rookies will struggle. There IS NOT enough room to turn your truck (especially sleepers) down by their dock doors. Really nice people, fast unloading. I would totally come here again.

So happy with our home that we purchased from Lane 10 years ago. A true craftsman and his quality and attention to detail are still relevant. Highly recommended.

Brandon Johnson★★★★★3 years ago

Lane and his crew are highly professional and caring builders. Myself, Being a General Contractor in the Western US for more than 20 years, I was highly impressed with Lane's processes. Don't let his easy going nature and good humor trick you into believing he is anything but detailed, instead we were very impressed with his high attention to detail (the good humor and southern hospitality were just a bonus). You should know Saltwater Homes is a builder you can trust, which is THE most important trait to find in a custom home builder.

They showed up on time, were very professional yet personable, finished in a rather short time, and left my home looking like they were never there - except my attic. You definitely could tell they were in my attic! I look forward to seeing how well the insulation helps the comfort of my home.

I had Carolina SFI come out to do my attic and I’m honestly really impressed. The crew showed up on time, they explained what they were doing, and knocked it out faster than I expected. Super chill guys. Super respectful of the space and they cleaned up after themselves. The difference in temperature in the house is real and way more consistent now and it doesn’t feel like I’m fighting the AC all day. It absolutely feels like a smart investment and I would for sure call them again if I need more work done.

Sea Jay★★★★★8 months ago

As someone with experience in the trades, I can confidently say Carolina Spray Foam delivers a top-tier product. Their team showed up on time, prepped the job site efficiently, and applied the foam with precision and consistency. They used high-quality closed-cell spray foam in key areas, which significantly improved the thermal envelope of the structure. Air leaks were virtually eliminated, and the R-value performance has already translated to lower HVAC runtime and noticeable savings on monthly utility costs. Beyond the immediate benefits, I know this install will continue to pay off for years through reduced energy consumption and improved building durability. For any contractor or property owner looking to do it right the first time, these guys are a solid call.

Winsupply is a great place to get all of your plumbing needs. They carry the best brand names at a great price. We were renovating our master bath and worked with Clint Lankford who was extremely knowledgeable. He ordered everything we needed for the entire installation. The order came in on schedule and was complete. There was one faucet that was defective and Clint took care of it immediately. Clint wasn't just interested in plumbing supplies, he was interested in the whole bathroom. He really wanted us to have a beautiful bathroom; the plumbing supplies being an important part of the finished product. We felt like he was really in tune to our vision. We highly recommend Winsupply of Mt. Pleasant for your plumbing needs.

Gloria Hochstedler★★★★★8 years ago

I placed a special color Elkay kitchen sink order with inside sales representative Clint Lankford, who handled my order professionally, expediently, and with honest representation. While also inquiring about a design faucet, Clint recommended a Moen faucet with excellent functionality and design appeal. I highly recommend Winnelson Supply of Mount Pleasant when you have specific and specialized plumbing needs. Equatable and competitive pricing experience as well. Thank you Winsupply!

Chris Havens★★★★★12 years ago

I enjoy shopping around for the best possible deal, it's almost a game to me. Mt Pleasant Winnelson is by far the best prices in the Lowcountry when it comes to kitchens, baths, plumbing supplies and HVAC as well....They also have a beautiful kitchen and bath showroom!

Guy C Lee has been a major part of my life lately and I must say every time I walk in Juan is greeting with a smile and willingness to help (genuinely) He is very patient and goes the extra mile to even respond to my emails after hours! What a relief to know there is someone who takes pride in his work and loves his job so much! Juan is your man if you need any help!!! Thanks Juan!!! Juan was busy today and his manager came over and helped. He put just as much effort into helping us and getting us set up for when Juan was available. Thanks so much!!!!!

gretchen clark★★★★★10 months ago

Matt, at Guy C Lee, was so helpful in helping us find exactly what we needed to update our kitchen. We were looking for cabinet trim. Something that is limited at Home Depot and Lowe's. We found exactly what we needed and Matt helped us with some details, colors, etc. it's my new go to for projects!

Stan Weintraub★★★★★a month ago

I have heard a lot (of good) about this place but never needed to go in there. I have an 8-year-old home where much of the materials were sourced through Guy C lee. Let's just say my builder has offered NOTHING to support my warranty issues after we closed. HOWEVER we had a few expensive windowpanes and other products that went bad. All it took was one call to Guy C lee and they stepped up and went the extra mile and took care of the warranty claims quickly and efficiently. If you go into the store, you will see courteous and competent employees who are eager to help. Thanks for all that you do !!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Mount Pleasant

Is spray foam insulation a good choice in hot and humid climates like Mount Pleasant?
Absolutely. Hot and humid climates like Mount Pleasant, SC are actually where spray foam insulation delivers some of its best results. Closed-cell spray foam acts as both an insulation layer and a moisture/vapor barrier, preventing the humidity infiltration that causes mold, rot, and air conditioning inefficiency. Homeowners in SC typically see 20–35% reductions in cooling costs after installation. One important note: because spray foam creates a tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is essential in humid climates to manage interior moisture from daily activities like cooking and bathing.
What type of spray foam is best for homes in Mount Pleasant?
In hot and humid climates like Mount Pleasant, SC, closed-cell spray foam is generally recommended for exterior walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Its high density creates a moisture barrier critical in humid environments. Open-cell foam can be used in interior walls for soundproofing and actually allows some vapor movement, which can be beneficial in certain wall assemblies. A qualified local contractor can assess your specific home and recommend the best approach.
Can spray foam insulation help reduce my AC bills in Mount Pleasant?
Yes — significantly. Air conditioning accounts for the majority of energy costs in hot climates like Mount Pleasant, SC. Spray foam seals all gaps and cracks that allow conditioned air to escape, which is the primary cause of high AC bills. Most homeowners in hot climates report 20–30% reductions in cooling costs after spray foam installation.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
