Rob and Chris did a great job. They installed a whole attic radiant barrier and added blown in insulation to take out attic to R38. They were efficient and clean. I highly recommend Koala insulation.

The crews that came out to insulate my attic and install my solar fan were great. Scope of work was discussed prior to it beginning and my input was solicited prior to placement of the attic fan. The crew was also very accommodating of the crowed work site as I had several trades on site at the same time. I’m very happy with the results.

Koala was professional and responsive from quote to installation! They were able to accommodate my quick timeline and the installers, Cody and Jeff, were prompt, polite and professional. They explained the process and got right to work blowing insulation into my attic. When finished, they cleaned up and showed pictures of the finished work. Highly recommend!!

We tried rolled and blown insulation in our raised ranch attic. We then added a large whole house attic fan. Nothing helped during the hot, Raleigh summers. Two weeks ago we went to the Home show at the fairgrounds and met Shane, with MPI Foam. He explained what his company could do. Last week we had a team crawl into the attic and physically roll up and vacuum out all the insulation. This is an attic you can only crawl in, what a terrible task! They did a great job! The next day, the spray team went in and sprayed the foam, how they did it, I don’t know. The results are great. Our house is much cooler now and will be warmer this winter. Very pleased.

I had a small residential project about an hour east of Raleigh. These guys were great to work with. Showed up when they were supposed to, did the work quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up afterwards. Being in the construction industry myself, these are rarities to find. Scott was very informative and always answered anytime I had a question. I would highly recommend these folks to anyone needing spray foam insulation.

MPI has now spray foamed our current home as well as our previous home. The AC in our upstairs could not keep up during 90+ degree days. Insulation solved the problem. MPI is very easy to work with and they did a great job. Definitely recommend.

The original HVAC vendor did not properly insulate the attic where the HVAC unit (and boot) was located. East Carolina Insulation--George did a great job finding the error and implementing a fixable solution. He was polite, customer service oriented, and solution oriented. I will use them again, if needed.

I had my floors removed and replaced in my home. I needed someone to put installation under the house. (Both rooms are 20 x 20.) Jacob was very helpful. He kept me in the loop with everything that was going on. Which was great because I live in Greenville and the house in Jacksonville. The lady that took my check at the front desk was really professional. They both was wonderful and very patient with me especially because, I didn’t know what was I was doing. It’s hard to find good customer service right now. So when I receive it. I like to let everyone else know about it. Jacob was outstanding. Even when I gave him my email wrong both times. I would recommend this company to anyone that is looking for installation. Not only were they courteous, but they were on time. And they provide a great service!

Spray-foamed the attic area of our oceanfront home. It had to be a real pain in some very tight spaces but they got it done. Solved our air infiltration problem. Highly recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Jacksonville

These are the questions Jacksonville homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 33% typical energy savings. Compare the 6 verified Jacksonville contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Jacksonville?▼
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Jacksonville, NC, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in NC see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Jacksonville?▼
In mixed-humid climates like Jacksonville, NC, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in NC's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Jacksonville, NC?▼
In Jacksonville, NC and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Jacksonville costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Jacksonville homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Jacksonville, NC?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Jacksonville, NC, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Jacksonville contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Jacksonville for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
