Matt came out and did the work in a timely manner just when we needed him to be there. He did a great job sealing the walls and the rim joists and we were amazed at how much warmer the room was almost immediately. There was a slight miscommunication when the work was done and Matt cheerfully came back to correct the problem. He went over and above to make it right and to make sure that we were satisfied. We are REALTORS in Kalamazoo and we will definitely recommend that others use Great Lakes Insulation to increase the energy efficiency of their homes. Though their prices are very competitive and cheaper than some, they may not be the cheapest option. We believe they are worth the cost. We look forward to being much warmer next winter! They certainly provided exceptional customer service and completed the job with professionalism. We are very satisfied!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better World Builders completed insulation and air-sealing work on my home in December 2025, and the improvement in performance has been significant. Prior to the work, the section of roof shown in the photo regularly developed severe ice dams and large icicles that extended to the ground. Since the upgrades, this issue has been dramatically reduced. The team removed all of the old, ineffective attic insulation and performed thorough air sealing before installing new insulation to properly separate the attic spaces from the conditioned living areas. Because my home is an older balloon-framed house, this made a substantial difference. They also applied spray foam along the perimeter of the basement and crawl spaces, as well as in the attics, installed a vapor retarder in the dirt crawl spaces to address moisture concerns, and added both roof can vents and a new gable vent. In addition to the high-quality workmanship, Better World Builders was professional and communicative throughout the entire project. A group text was established at the start, providing clear updates on scheduling, daily progress, and upcoming tasks, and it made it easy to communicate with the project managers whenever questions arose. Overall, it was an excellent experience working with Better World Builders. As an added benefit, my gas and heating bills are noticeably lower than last winter, my home stays more consistently warm, and the furnace runs far less often due to the improved air sealing and insulation.

We loved working with Better World Builders! I appreciated they were not pushy on completing any projects and instead presented facts about home performance. We did an extensive HVAC and attic insulation project with them that last about 3 weeks. Everyone who was in our house during that time was respectful of our home and minimized the impact to our lives while the project was ongoing. I had a very good experience with Whitson insulation. Our project was unique in that we were removing mold from the house which required us to demolition a number of exterior walls. Dennis responded quickly to come and quote the project and was very helpful in guiding me to choose the proper insulation to meet my project needs. Their price was reasonable, I highly recommend them.

We had a small insulation project. Even though they were scheduled out a few weeks, Whitson Insulation was still willing to come out, assess our job, and provide a reasonable quote. After a kitchen remodel on our ~1950s home, we found ice forming on the tops of some of our recessed lighting cans in the attic during winter, meaning we did not have good insulation and air flow in our attic. We had both Home Depot and Spink come out and quote us on adding insulation and fixing air flow problems (installing baffles, clearing insulation from soffit vents). Both quotes were almost dead-on pricewise (within $10), but Spink's quote included more insulation, getting us to minimum R50 in our attic, whereas HD was less. Additionally, Spink was able to schedule the job within a week, whereas HD was booking 2+ weeks out. Finally, Spink also offered to do and submit the paperwork for DTE rebates, which is a nice bonus. The installers arrived and got right to the job. Joe got into our attic, poked around for a few minutes, and immediately explained everything, in intricate detail, to my wife and I. What they were going to do, the air flow issues they noted, how much insulation they were going to add, etc... They put down drop cloths to protect our newly-refinished hardwood floors, and they were careful to get the worst of snow/salt off their boots when coming inside (it was actively snowing outside). Within about 2 hours, they had completed the job and cleaned up. Again, Joe went through all the details of what they had done, and made sure we were happy. I took a peek up in the attic, and we ultimately ended up with close to 18" of insulation, which is even above R50 (R50 is about 15.5"). We were very happy with Spink, and would definitely recommend them for any insulation job in the Ann Arbor area.

I shopped around several companies to insulate my new 30'x64' pole barn. Ryan met with me, provided great advice and submitted a very fair proposal. The work was done in two stages: foam for the exterior walls and then, once I was prepared, cellulose for the ceiling and interior walls. Different teams did each phase. They were all friendly, helpful and very professional. I couldn't be happier with the great work they did for a fair price. I highly recommend them.

Not sure why anyone would give Weatherwise any rating other than 5 stars?!?! Ryan and his team were nothing but accommodating and professional Ryan went out of his way to accommodate my issues for scheduling. Phil the installer and his crew did a phenomenal job! Amazing clean up after install and the foam installation was better than anything I could have imagined. The crew sprayed in my existing garage that had of large amount of items remaining with no overspray or any noticeable issues Very thankful a friend recommended Weatherwise to do the insulation. I would recommend anyone with insulation needs to contact Ryan and his team for a solution.

Very pleased with the professionalism and honesty of this company! Brian came out to inspect my home to see if I would benefit from adding any additional insulation. He let me know the house seemed insulated pretty well but recommended to insulate above the garage, since I recently started to heat it in the colder months. They came out and took care of it a few days later and did a great job! Made a big difference :)

West Michigan Insulation is a great company to work with. We are working on adding extra insulation in our basement for comfort and lower heating/cooling bills, and they went above and beyond to help us out. The basement looks great and is much warmer and cozier. We can't wait to see how it affects our energy savings.
