Professional installation. Fantastic value. Quoted price was half that of the competitor's. Assessor (Michael) was both friendly and thorough, took detailed measurements, and provided useful energy saving advice. Two-man installation team was skillful and responsible. Georgia Spray Foam is a local business whose employees also volunteer their time for hurricane and disaster relief. I might not have agreed to have my attic spray foamed, but the value was so good and the company was so reliable, I couldn't say no -- and I'm glad I didn't. Georgia Spray Foam Services is highly recommended.

Service: Attic insulation. Comment: As new home owners, we felt the need to improve the attic insulation. We met with Dave and he was really good explaining how this home improvement will save around 30% on our electric bill. The work was performed in a timely and efficient manner. We are extremely happy with the work that was done. The temperature in the attic already feels much cooler. In addition with Dave's outstanding customer service, he recommended a trusted electrician, plummer, and water filtration service. He was very thorough, honest, and extremely professional. We highly recommend Green Smart.

Took the time and made sure the vacuuming of our prior blown-in in the attic was cleaned out and then did a great job of coating our attic roof with Open cell, About 4 to 5 inches deep all around.Fast and a good communicator.

The air conditioning in my office upstairs was running constantly, and still it was uncomfortably warm. So I did my research on spray foam insultation and nearby companies. I contracted with Koala Insulation of South Atlanta, and I couldn't be more happy with the results. It was 140 degrees in my attic when they started and after they finished, it felt like a warm summer day in the attic. I could tell the difference almost immediately, and now, it's a comfortable 78 in my office. I look forward to a significantly lower power bill. Austin and his team did a fantastic job and I highly recommend them.

Koala Insulation did our basement. They did a great job and were professional. I appreciate the communication and patience with our project as plumbers and inspections fell behind schedule. Koala insulation, however, showed up when promised and finished as promised. They did a great job in the application of foam. We had a multitude of wires in the ceiling, mini-split air conditioning on the wall, and they were careful to cover it all. They cleaned up after the job and finished in a timely manner. I'd be happy to use them again.

Great job!!! Re- insulating the attic and outside walls has made a difference. Tony was an exceptional sales person. Knew his facts and showed us why we needed to have the attic redone. The install team was also great. Quick, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. Definitely would recommend.

USA Insulation was great from start to finish. Alex came out and listened to our issues and assessed what we needed instead of trying to sell like other insulation companies. Then Daniel & Felix did a incredible job with the install and wrapped it up by thoroughly explaining the work that was done (with pictures). These two went above and beyond and were great to work with. This was all made possible with Beth helping in the office. This group worked as a team to make our house more efficient and comfortable. Thank you again to the USA Insulation team.

It feels really good to work with good people that love what they do and are honest about prices.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in McDonough

These are the questions McDonough homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 27% typical energy savings. Compare the 4 verified McDonough contractors above for exact quotes.

Does spray foam insulation work well in hot dry climates like McDonough?▼
Yes — spray foam is highly effective in hot dry climates like McDonough, GA. While moisture control is less of a concern than in humid climates, the air sealing properties are critical for keeping hot desert air out and cooled air in. In extreme heat climates, an unsealed attic can reach 150°F+, dramatically increasing AC load. Spray foam in the attic can reduce attic temperatures by 30–40°F.
What is the best area of my home to insulate in McDonough?▼
In hot dry climates like McDonough, GA, the attic is typically the highest-impact area to spray foam insulate. Desert sun heats roofs to extreme temperatures, and an uninsulated attic transfers that heat directly into your living space. After the attic, crawl spaces and rim joists are the next highest-impact areas. A local contractor can perform an energy audit to identify where your home loses the most conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in McDonough, GA?▼
In McDonough, GA and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in McDonough costs $2,000–$6,000. Most McDonough homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in McDonough, GA?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in McDonough, GA, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified McDonough contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in McDonough for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
