Silverback Insulation, Inc. was the absolute best company that did work for me! Greg, the owner, and another worker arrived promptly to insulate my crawlspace, were conscientious in the execution of their work, and cleaned up after themselves. I had 5 contractors who came out to look at the job. I chose this company because they respectfully listened to what I wanted, did exactly what I wanted, and provided more than all the other quotes by the other 4 companies. Greg's wife and co-owner was extremely pleasant on the phone to set up the time for the work to be done, even reminding me of the appointment we had set up. From start to finish this company excelled in all aspects of the insulation job.

Silverback insulation provided informative info on the need for added insulation in our attic bringing our home insulation up to current code. They were prompt, courteous and professional. Since completion of added insulation we have noticed a decrease in a/c and furnace operation a big savings in power cost. I have recommended Silverback Ins to several of my neighbors n friends.

We had an outstanding experience with Silverback Insulation! Greg and Jody are exceptional professionals who take great care in estimating, scheduling, and executing the work/services. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction made the entire process smooth and stress-free. They insulated our garage in The Villages, and the results were immediate and impressive. What many homeowners don’t realize (as we didn’t) is that builders often do not insulate the space above the garage or the garage door itself. As a result, temperatures inside the garage can soar past 100°F—especially during peak summer months. This extreme heat doesn't just affect the garage—it radiates into adjoining rooms, impacting overall comfort and increasing energy bills. Silverback insulated both the garage ceiling and door, and we’ve seen garage temperatures drop by 15-20°F. The garage is now significantly more comfortable and energy-efficient. If you live in Florida and want to improve your home’s comfort and energy efficiency, insulating your garage is a smart investment—and Silverback Insulation is absolutely the right team for the job. Highly recommended!

I HIGHLEY RECOMEND! I purchased my wife a craft shed for Christmas and wanted to finish it out. I called Prestige and got the best quote for spray foam insulation. The day before I was scheduled Rene contacted me and said it would be to cold for the insulation to stick. We rescheduled 2 more times before it got warm enough. She was thoughtful, considerate and cared that the job was done correctly. The team showed up on time! They were nice and friendly and made sure I liked the finished product before turning their machine off. I deal with over a thousand repairs a year in my company with a hundred different Vendors. I would put Prestige Insulation at the top as 1 of the best.

Wonderful Company! Our home is off grade and 2 stories. We had Foamseal insulate our crawl space, all exterior walls, under 2nd story floor (to help with sound) and roof. We even had them come back to insulate our pump house for our well. Everyone was great from the office to the on-site workers. They were respectful of our home and cleaned up after themselves. We are very happy with the final product. Our home stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter with minimum energy use. Not likely to build again, but if we did, we would definitely use Foamseal again.

I used FoamSeal to insulate my new home with spray foam and could not be happier. I will use them again and recommend them to everyone I know that is building a house or need insulation. Jimmy talked me through the whole process and stayed on top of the job till it was complete. Great group of employees and very conscientious about doing quality work.

Read some of these reviews and seems to me that people are just uninformed. I've remodeled a few houses in my life and this is the last one (my forever home). I chose foam seal to do the work I needed and glad I did. This stuff is THE best insulation system I've ever come across. This group of people is THE best ive ever worked with. Chandler read me in on the process and once I was ready they knocked it out in a couple days. They had a couple hiccups but were spot on and did a solid job. This will go in my barndominium as well. Great team

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Port Orange

Is spray foam insulation a good choice in hot and humid climates like Port Orange?
Absolutely. Hot and humid climates like Port Orange, FL are actually where spray foam insulation delivers some of its best results. Closed-cell spray foam acts as both an insulation layer and a moisture/vapor barrier, preventing the humidity infiltration that causes mold, rot, and air conditioning inefficiency. Homeowners in FL typically see 20–35% reductions in cooling costs after installation. One important note: because spray foam creates a tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is essential in humid climates to manage interior moisture from daily activities like cooking and bathing.
What type of spray foam is best for homes in Port Orange?
In hot and humid climates like Port Orange, FL, closed-cell spray foam is generally recommended for exterior walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Its high density creates a moisture barrier critical in humid environments. Open-cell foam can be used in interior walls for soundproofing and actually allows some vapor movement, which can be beneficial in certain wall assemblies. A qualified local contractor can assess your specific home and recommend the best approach.
Can spray foam insulation help reduce my AC bills in Port Orange?
Yes — significantly. Air conditioning accounts for the majority of energy costs in hot climates like Port Orange, FL. Spray foam seals all gaps and cracks that allow conditioned air to escape, which is the primary cause of high AC bills. Most homeowners in hot climates report 20–30% reductions in cooling costs after spray foam installation.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
