If you need new insulation and removal of the old this Is the company for you. Brian the owner and Brian the superintendent are a dynamic duo that will make sure you are well taken care of!

I strongly recommend Zhe Industries for all your insulation needs! The entire team was knowledgeable and professional and brought my 60-year-old attic up to modern code. This is a quality company that’s interested in doing what’s right for the customer. When the Zhe team identified an electrical problem in the attic they paused work and helped arrange repairs. I am completely satisfied, and extremely happy, with the service, quality, and price provided by Zhe!

Devon Lee★★★★★9 months ago

We had a complete attic removal and installation. Zhe did an amazing job and some of the best costumer service we’ve ever experienced. The free quote was no hassle or was not a “salesman pitch”- very fair pricing and answered all of our questions. After receiving multiple quotes, they were the best priced and the ones we wanted to work with the most. Would recommend these guys to anyone!

Great company who we had install a mini split in our room over the garage. I originally found them through an advertisement on Facebook and I’m glad I did! It was a 5 star experience across the board. From the initial estimate from their sales representative Tim, to a follow up call from Ross, to the installers Zach and Russ. All employees were extremely professional and not pushy in the least. Their installers were efficient, friendly, and courteous. They explained the system operation thoroughly once fully installed and ensured all our questions were answered prior to them leaving. I couldn’t be happier with choosing Fusion for my mini-split installation. If you’re looking for a highly talented group of professionals that will provide a fair price and do the job right the first time look no further than Fusion!

Just wanted to give a positive review to Morgan Bayse at Fusion Heating/AC. I was in need of an annual inspection for both furnaces and this year called Fusion instead of Kellam. Fusion provided a timely service date and Morgan arrived on time. He performed very thorough inspections, cleaning the units, taking pictures and notes. He did find one potential item which he described a minor. But instead of recommending "replacing the entire unit" (like some companies), he cleaned the part and suggested keeping an eye on it. Morgan is the absolute best HVAC tech, extremely knowledgeable, honest and personable. I highly recommend him for any of your HVAC services. You won't be disappointed.

We have been impressed with Fusion’s meticulous and professional technicians. Recently, Shawn, performed the winter maintenance service on two properties that we own. He was extremely thorough providing photos of all work completed. I highly recommend Fusion to anyone seeking a smaller company that provides excellent service.

After much debate about whether we should repair or re-side our 30 year old weathered home in Virginia Beach, we decided to call Hometown Remodeling. They had recently completed some jobs in the neighborhood so we contacted the owners of the homes and they couldn’t have been happier. We were impressed from the very start of the process. Rich’s professional approach and Tina’s support in the office were definitely important in our decision to use Hometown. Once we decided on the style, color, etc., the job went as well as we could have ever expected. The installers, Jake and his son Jacob are true craftsmen and they take the time to make sure every inch of the job is completed to perfection. We now marvel every time we drive up to our “new” home and have nothing but praise for Hometown Remodeling.

After mitigation due to water damage, I spent hours researching contractors. I decided to hire Hometown Remodeling to restore my kitchen. Rob, Richard and his team of highly professional, meticulous, and courteous workers did an incredible job in record time. I needed a contractor who would start right away and get the job done quickly, as I have renters living in the house. The renters work from home. We were all highly impressed with the quality and professionalism of this team. Every email, phone call and text was immediately answered. I am very pleased with the finished product and will definitely refer them to my friends. Thank you for this job. Well done

We recently had a major addition built onto our home, and from start to finish, Hometown Remodeling was outstanding. Rob, Richard, and Patti provided valuable ideas and guidance right from the beginning, helping us navigate this big project with confidence. At every step, they made sure I was informed, comfortable, and satisfied with the progress. The quality of both the workmanship and materials was excellent. Whenever I had questions or needed clarification, our conversations were always met with sincere engagement, clear communication, and genuine respect. By the end of the process, it felt like I had gained an extended family. I wholeheartedly give Hometown Remodeling my highest recommendation—they truly go above and beyond.

David was very thorough in his inspection of the home. He gave very good feedback on how to handle post care of the home after the treatment of the home. This was very helpful because I never knew how to prevent the pest from coming back after the treatment until his assessment of my home. The price was very reasonably as well which is always a nice bonus. Thank you david!!!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Virginia Beach

These are the questions Virginia Beach homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 33% typical energy savings. Compare the 6 verified Virginia Beach contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Virginia Beach?
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Virginia Beach, VA, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in VA see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Virginia Beach?
In mixed-humid climates like Virginia Beach, VA, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in VA's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Virginia Beach, VA?
In Virginia Beach, VA and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Virginia Beach costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Virginia Beach homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Virginia Beach, VA?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Virginia Beach, VA, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Virginia Beach contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Virginia Beach for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
