Just want to send my honest review. I really don't write reviews. But Iam so pleased with results i have no choice. 1st and foremost I was please to deal with individuals not trying to upsale for once. I was greeted with professionals who walked me through all processes every step of the way. Problem: My home was built in 1979.Wanted solar initually.( I was looking into going solar but heard of so many horry stories I was skeptical. It was brought to my attention that of the green energy incentives were gone for Jan 1st 2026. Solar installs that qualify for these installs stop august of 2025 due to the rush.) My electrical bill is extremely high every month. My furnace was running hard daily. I set up a consultation and had a full energy assessment. I had various gaps in my attic and garage as well as chimney. My 1979 insulation was dust. I had spray insulation installed as well as rafter repairs. They sealed up attic space gaps and lined up ducts. They went above and beyond to ensure needs were met. Workers left house spotless. I had an inspection a week later to ensure things were functioningas they should: previously my furnace ran strong and hard keeping my family warm. I currently check on it to make sure its working. The heat is trapped in the house and the furnace cuts on. Rarely. I didnt know this was possible. Im asking you guys to ask for a consultation. Theres no upsale. What you need is told and delivered. I have no involvement with this company. I don't write reviews and it took me 3 months to write this 1. Diced Energy is local and can assist you with your needs

Cannot recommend them enough! Every person I spoke to and dealt with was incredibly nice and went above and beyond. Rosemary really worked with us to get any sort of NYS discount and was always very friendly and very helpful on the phone. And the guy that came to do our efficiency audit, Jimmy, was super upfront and honest and said what we should do and what we didn't necessarily need. A+++

I had a great experience with Prestige Energy Solutions. The technician(Corey) arrived right on time for our appointment, which I really appreciated. He took the time to clearly explain all of my options without any pressure, and made sure I understood everything before moving forward. I also received my estimate promptly, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Overall, excellent service — highly recommend!

Both employees working on encapsulating (creating vapor barrier in my crawl space) Scott and Riley did very good job and the final results exceeded my expectations. Thank you! Forgot to add that Corey-who represented company and was the first contact to estimate the total cost of my project was very knowledgeable, detailed and answered all my questions. Gave me valuable advice and scheduled work in reasonable time frame. Contacting him directly was easy (which sometimes in other companies is not possible) and always responded promptly. Overall- his company is worth recommending for their work and quality! Thank you, Corey!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Middletown

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Middletown?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Middletown, NY typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Middletown?
For most homes in Middletown, NY, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
