Highly recommend SABBY Attic Insulation & Dryer Vent Cleaning Services for anyone in Passaic. Our technician, They, was friendly, efficient, and took his time explaining everything. We needed both attic insulation and chimney repair services, and this team delivered exceptional results. The dryer vent was also overdue for a cleaning and now everything runs smoothly and more safely. What stood out was the transparency—Marc gave us a clear estimate and stuck to it. Louis from National Dry vent Services came out to clean our dryer ducts and vents after we moved into our house. We discovered that the dryer vents were clogged and our exhaust cage was damaged. Louis worked diligently and excellent to remove the clog and cleaned everything out. He also replaced our exhaust cage and put one in that would not allow any critters to find their way inside. He was professional, worked quickly and efficiently. The pricing was very reasonable. I also love all the appointment confirmations, detailed website and online booking tool! Will definitely recommend and use in the future National Dry vent Services! MANY THANKSSS National Dry vent Services!

I hired Artic Insulation to install dense pack cellulose insulation in all my exterior walls and the attic space of a lower roof. They happened to be the 2nd of 4 contractors I had come out to give me a quote for my project. I knew right out the gate that I was going to hire them. I really like that he wasn't one of these big box contractors wth there flashy salesman. A nice local contractor was exactly what i was looking for in these crazy times I wanted use a local business. Bob the owner of the company came to do the estimate. He showed up on time, and went over in detail about what had to be done and what was a waist of money todo, He even took the time to tell me how I could insulate a small crawl space that could not be done with the dense pack. I felt really good and comfortable with whole estimate, never once tried to sell me on stuff I didn't need or want and gave me an honest completion time, that I knew he wasn't going to rush the job or drag it out. Day 1 of the project he showed up at the time he said he would. Bob and his partner worked hard all day on my house, by7 the end of day one they were a little more then 1/2 way around my house. They took the time to clean up blew out all my flower beds, blew off my patio and my lawn. Day 2 they showed up again on time and ready to work. They finished my outside walls and started on the attic space of the lower roof. They did an amazing job I was worried about the mess in my entry foyer but when they were done it was spot less. He even added some rolled insulation by the access hole because I told him i was making it an access door. I could immediately feel the temperature in my house once he was done. The 1st floor stays cooler the A/C doesn't run as long or as often and the 2nd floor is way cooler then it was before and we haven't even done the attic yet. Bob will be coming back in the Fall to do my attic for phase 2 of this project. I would highly recommend this contractor.

Bob, the owner, is very friendly and getting a quote was straight forward. He can at the promised time and finished a large job in 2 days. Once they start working, they do not stop and they will leave around 4-5pm, what I love. The job is well done. I watched them work. They make sure that the walls are full with insulation. You can tell that they did not start the business yesterday, but 20+ years ago.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Passaic

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Passaic?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Passaic, NJ typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Passaic?
For most homes in Passaic, NJ, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
