Jamal and his team arrived on time, were courteous, professional, and completed the old attic insulation removal & re-installation in one day. The attic looks 100% better now that all air gaps have been sealed and with fully blown in insulation replacing the old fiberglass batting. They did a great job of cleaning up at the end and made sure to cover and protect everything during the process. The whole process of working with this team has been easy and efficient. I would definitely recommend them. We did have another insulation team quote on the project and the prices were comparable, so I wouldn’t hesitate with going with Home Insulation Experts from the start.

Home Insulation Experts Inc exceeded all expectations. Liad came to my house twice to explain everything in detail. He was a complete professional and was super knowledgeable and trustworthy. On project day, Jamal showed up with his team. They took great care in prepping the house with plastic and to make sure we understood what the plan was for the next two days. Long story short. We are thrilled with the results. Right now as I write this review its 98 degrees outside and normally my 2nd floor would be at least 85 degrees and really uncomfortable. Today the house feels so much better than it did for the past 22 years. Lastly, they have a follow up crew that came back to the house a few days later to make sure everything was done right. We're super happy we chose Home Insulation Experts. We should have done this 10 years ago.

We are VERY happy with home experts. A truly stand up company. They went above and beyind to fix an issue that honestly wasnt their fault. Including the owner personally coming out to get on the ladder himself to fix it! Many other companies would have cleaned up and left it as is saying its not their problem, but they made sure to fix it n treat it as they would their own home. The original HVAC installers left the return vents open to the bays instead of piping it in and when they went to fill insulation into the attic it came into 2 rooms. They cleaned up everything as if there were never there and fixed the issue so we could turn on our AC on. From the quote to scheduling the job they were VERY easy to work with. They were honest where they said we could qualify for a rebate. But they dont schedule the job until it got approved, so you know is good to go. The crew including Jamal was very respectful tapping up everything and cleaning up so they left the house better than they found it.

Had a 6am appt. Arrived at 6am got a dock right away and started unloading. If you’re coming off of I-80 onto Madison Ave, make a left onto Main St. then make another left onto park slope, then left onto Getty Ave. that way you can be lined up to easily back into the docks since coming straight down Getty Ave from Madison will lead to a blindside parking because there isn’t enough room to turn around. If you happen to come down Getty Ave. and want to avoid blindside parking then the only other option I saw is, there’s an alley/driveway across from the docks you can back into that in order to turn around so you can alley dock instead of having to blindside in. The decline into the dock is low so possibility of your trailer side skirt touching the floor going in, make sure your landing gear is all the way up, and also as another person mentioned your drives may not be touching the floor from one or both sides, either release air out of bags to lower it or active inter-axle differential to get out.

William Hymer★★★★★a year ago

Quick delivery, friendly and helpful staff. Docks are off of Getty Ave. unless you get the dock that aligns with the driveway across the street. you will most likely have to do a 90 degree blindside off the street so bring your A-Game.

I can't say enough positive things about this company. I got spray foam insulation in my attic. Rob was my contact person. He was a professional from beginning to end. When I found some moisture in my attic, he took charge, came and found the issues and had them corrected. He reassured me that the company would stand behind their product and would do what it took to make it right. I would highly recommend these guys and Rob in particular. My 1950's home is now very energy efficient.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Paterson

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Paterson?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Paterson, NJ typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Paterson?
For most homes in Paterson, NJ, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
