Eco Energy Solutions added blown in insulation to my attic floor. They also went above and beyond and added insulation to the walls of my upstairs rooms and a thermal shield. Extremely thorough and professional. They were in and out in a day and I can tell a huge difference inside the house ever since. The work was also very reasonably priced. I am very satisfied and would use them again.

The two man crew arrived and set up quickly. They went through the steps for the application like a "well oiled machine"! My 16 x 20ft shed is sealed tight. I appreciate what Eco Spray Foam did for me. I recommend them to all who need insulating done the right way.

Eco is a wonderful company to work with. They did everything they promised they would do plus did an outstanding job cleaning up when they were finished. I was completely satisfied and would highly recommend them again and again.

We chose Sunlight Contractors after thoroughly researching the market, and we’re so glad we did. From the very beginning, Ira and his team stood out with their excellent communication and transparency. They gave us all the information we needed to make an informed decision, even sharing what to look out for if we ended up going with another company. We needed old insulation removed, but Sunlight also gave us great advice about additional steps we might want to consider, like treating the wood to protect it moving forward. They spent a lot of time helping us think through the project and discussing different options to make sure it would be a success. Sunlight provided a great estimate, and on the day of the job, the crew arrived on time and were incredibly professional and friendly. They worked with care and efficiency, and we were so impressed by their attention to detail—especially how thoroughly they cleaned up after a big job on such a hot and humid day. We were very happy working with Sunlight Contractors and wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again in the future. Highly recommend!

After our house was damaged by a motor vehicle accident, we contacted sunlight contractors to help us with the repair. They did an inspection and also gave us excellent referrals for people in unrelated areas of house maintenance. Ira and his team were very communicative, always respectful, and always looking out for the best for us and our home. During the work, the damage was noted to be more extensive than previously thought. Ira would call me and keep me up-to-date, and we got through these difficult times respectfully as a team. They let me know what was most important, were understanding of our financial situation, and were not quoting additional unnecessary services to price gouge us. The final product is beautiful, you could never tell that the house went through an accident. I would 100% recommend Ira and sunlight contractors for any repair. This is a honest, hardworking, and skilled contractor company.

My wife and I purchased a home in 2020 and were recently devastated when finding out we had a mold/moisture issue in our sub-flooring as a result of improper spray foam installation that resulted in costly damage. Ira Bosh and Sunlight Contractors came highly recommended and we were able to get a very fast and fair quote with a plan to remediate our issues. Ira's communication and knowledge have been exceptional thus far. He and his team were able to start repairs immediately and he has been in contact with us each day with updates and photos. He has been extremely kind and patient, explaining each step and answering any questions. We would highly recommend Sunlight Contractors to anyone in a similar situation.

I was so happy with this awesome team from Fontenot Insulation! They removed all my old attic insulation and blew in a R-30 rating. OMG!!! My central air unit is now running half the time it did previously. The house stays cool finally! And these guys clean up after themselves. The cost and quality workmanship are terrific! If you are tired of sending your money to Entergy… call Jennifer at Fontenot Insulation. My only regret is all these years I paid high light bills when insulating could have saved me so much money!

Had open cell spray foam retrofitted to an existing 50 year old home. Workers seemed competent, and were friendly. Looks like a good install to my untrained eye. There were a few mistakes that had to be rectified. Nothing big, and it was properly repaired. Properly. More importantly, the very experienced painter ended up repairing more of my garage acoustic ceiling than he needed to. So now my whole garage looks better, not just their 2 accidents. This was in a truss roof, with 2x4s instead of 2x6. I will say that from the first night the temperature felt more even in the house. Will not install spray foam in summer. I'm one of the last this year, sorry. It's just 130° up there and these guys are wearing non breathable suits to protect their clothing and arms and respirators with face shields. The real deal masks. I feel like that decision is geared toward protecting their talent. And I like it. We should all have a boss making sure we aren't asked to do dangerous things.

WOW! Extremely happy with our spray foam attic! I was very hesitant in having this done after reading so many bad stories on the internet where people have had issue with odor and health problems after spraying their homes. I expressed all of my concerns and questions to Ira and he answered all of them and encouraged me to do my own research as well. (These problems tend to be from bad installation by untrained and uncertified individuals) He is very knowledgeable and informative as is his entire crew. Everyone that came to the house was professional, courteous, well prepared, knowledgeable, and just made me feel at ease. They were all able to answer any of my questions and I had a bunch. The process was expedited quickly. They were very prompt to come out and inspect, provide the quote, and then get started right away with the installation. I glad I made the call to Sunlight Contractors and will definitely use them in the future for my contracting needs.

Absolutely the best experience. Extremely knowledgeable. They were timely and honest! I will admit I was worried about surprise fees but they were true to their word. There was even an unforeseen issue that popped up and the owner said they should have caught it and he covered the extra material costs and didn’t charge me a thing extra. I highly recommend sunlight contractors and will be using them on a different house we own.

Incredibly professional company. I had insulation that had degraded after a 100 years and was a mess. The folks at Sunlight got me fixed up in no time and made sure I was always happy. The entire staff that worked on my project were incredibly hard working and very friendly. They were also very fairly priced. It is with pleasure that I would highly recommend Sunlight. These guys know what they are doing!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Metairie

These are the questions Metairie homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 30% typical energy savings. Compare the 10 verified Metairie contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good choice in hot and humid climates like Metairie?▼
Absolutely. Hot and humid climates like Metairie, LA are actually where spray foam insulation delivers some of its best results. Closed-cell spray foam acts as both an insulation layer and a moisture/vapor barrier, preventing the humidity infiltration that causes mold, rot, and air conditioning inefficiency. Homeowners in LA typically see 20–35% reductions in cooling costs after installation. One important note: because spray foam creates a tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is essential in humid climates to manage interior moisture from daily activities like cooking and bathing.
What type of spray foam is best for homes in Metairie?▼
In hot and humid climates like Metairie, LA, closed-cell spray foam is generally recommended for exterior walls, crawl spaces, and attics. Its high density creates a moisture barrier critical in humid environments. Open-cell foam can be used in interior walls for soundproofing and actually allows some vapor movement, which can be beneficial in certain wall assemblies. A qualified local contractor can assess your specific home and recommend the best approach.
Can spray foam insulation help reduce my AC bills in Metairie?▼
Yes — significantly. Air conditioning accounts for the majority of energy costs in hot climates like Metairie, LA. Spray foam seals all gaps and cracks that allow conditioned air to escape, which is the primary cause of high AC bills. Most homeowners in hot climates report 20–30% reductions in cooling costs after spray foam installation.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Metairie, LA?▼
In Metairie, LA and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Metairie costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Metairie homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Metairie, LA?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Metairie, LA, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Metairie contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Metairie for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
