Great experience with all the people at USA Insulation. Wanted to have insulation put in the attic. They had several options to fit my budget. They showed up on time and got the job done in a timely manner. Couldn’t ask for a better outcome.

I had a great experience with Synergy Home! From my first phone call thru the completion of replacing my HVAC system. Brandon, Kimberly and Davis all were personable, Knowledgeable, professional and thorough. They answered my questions and pointed out things I hadn’t noticed. The price was reasonable and they came two days after I accepted the estimate to install the system. They would have came the next day, but I wasn’t available. Great company, people and GREAT job!

I was without air-conditioning for a week during one of the hottest weeks of the year. I called my friend who works at synergy home. He came out right away for me On Monday and assessed the situation. Determined that I needed A new AC compressor and coil. The owner of the company ended up coming out and helping with the estimate and checking my system over. Such a nice guy and really cares about his clients. This was on Monday. By Wednesday, they had me up and and running. To say they went above and beyond would be an understatement. A big thank you to Justin, Scott, and everybody involved in getting my air conditioner issue solved. I cannot recommend this company enough! Again, above and beyond would be an understatement. Their customer service is second to none! I will use no other company than synergy Home from here on out. Highly recommended! Five stars all around!

I had an outstanding experience with Synergy Home, and I want to especially recognize Drew for his excellent service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done right. He took the time to explain what he was doing, offered helpful advice, and made the whole process easy and stress-free. It’s rare to find someone who combines great technical skill with such friendly customer service, but Drew did exactly that. I couldn’t be more pleased with the work and the experience. If you’re looking for a reliable company and a technician who truly goes above and beyond, ask for Drew. Highly recommend.

I’m very pleased with the attic insulation work and the entire experience. Ty was the first person I spoke with and he was courteous, answered all my questions, and clearly explained the process so I knew what to expect. Donnie and Travis were also very professional and respectful—they made sure to keep my cats safe by letting me know whenever they needed to leave the door open to blow in insulation. They cleaned up thoroughly and confirmed I was satisfied with the work before leaving. Highly recommend!

They drove 2.5 hours for a small job and did it well. I received small-cell spray foam for two exterior bedroom walls. They did the job on time and on price, and the folks were very personable. They even scraped the excess foam from the studs to facilitate drywall installation. I will use them again!

Efficient! Two extremely polite technicians applied spray insulation in a difficult-to-access space in our attic. They were very respectful of our home and planned their access route to ensure no damage occurred during the process. Thanks Donnie!

Ten stars! We hired James Hinkle and his crew to encapsulate our overly moist crawl space (new vapor barrier and spray foam throughout). They scheduled us in ASAP and did an absolutely fantastic job. After finding so many corners that had been cut, in this home that we just purchased, we are beyond relieved to find people who do the job right the first time. We will be recommending them to all of our friends and neighbors who need insulation work done!

I am a repeat customer of KY Spray Foam Insulation. They added spray foam to a 50 year old addition that we never could keep as warm as the rest of the house. Worked like a charm. Unlike most contractors, they showed up when they said they would, finished on time and left no trace of being there. Excellent service! Could not recommend them enough.

KY spray foam was great to work with. They fit us in their busy schedule, at a moments notice. They were fair on pricing, very professional in their work and did a great job.

We had our home attic insulation increased today with blow-in fiberglass from Quality Insulation. Our experience couldn't have been better, the team came and introduced themselves, begin to lay floor protecting plastic throughout to area where they would be moving about and worked continuously until the installation was complete. I inspected the job in the attic and it looked as I had hoped. When they removed the floor plastic the left over debris would have fit in child's teacup. Yes I would recommend them to family and friends. Thanks

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Lexington

These are the questions Lexington homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 33% typical energy savings. Compare the 6 verified Lexington contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Lexington?
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Lexington, KY, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in KY see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Lexington?
In mixed-humid climates like Lexington, KY, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in KY's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Lexington, KY?
In Lexington, KY and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Lexington costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Lexington homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Lexington, KY?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Lexington, KY, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Lexington contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Lexington for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
