David was great to work with. The crew did an excellent job. It was an outside wall spray. Highly recommend David and his crew. They will be coming back again to do another job this year for me.

Todd Brager★★★★★a year ago

Had these guys spray the attic above my garage to prep for finishing out the bonus room. The pricing was competitive, the crew was on time, polite, and well organized. They left the place cleaner than it was when they arrived. Thanks for the hard work on one of the hottest day of the year!

They did a great job but they didn't tell me about the rip in the attic hatch cover. I had some aluminum duct tape and was able to fix it after they left. I would recommend them to a family member.

Randy and crew did a great job on our new garage/play area. Came and gave me a quote and I scheduled for a few weeks later and they started the job early. Awesome job on spray foaming walls and blowing ceiling made sure job was done right. Would recommend Koala and would definitely use them again. Thanks

Daniel Mendenhall★★★★★6 months ago

Recently had Koala install a solar attic fan with a humidistat. The fan works fantastically, its so quiet i had to get on my roof just to see if working. It keeps my attic cool so the small space doesn't cause our 2nd level to get warm even with the ac on. The AC itself works better than ever now as well since it doesn't have to battle the attic heat. The installation process was fast with no hassle. Highly recommend!

Started with me thinking my attic needed insulation… The consultant that came to my house was super professional and knowledgeable. Come to find out, my walls were EMPTY! 😳 the rvalue is worth the price and I noticed a difference right away. Crew was professional, all experienced and answered all my questions. Left my house and couldn’t even tell they were there. Great job Ryan, Kaila, Keith, and Mary! Would do this again if I buy a new house lol

Absolutely wonderful experience with USA INSULATION Kaila VanBuren & Truck #12 Crew, and salesman Cobe Woodfill from beginning to end. Great job. I recommend them.

This company is truly outstanding. They are responsive, professional, and take real pride in their work which is something that’s rare and genuinely appreciated. I had previously hired a different USA Insulation franchise that used to operate in Northern Indiana. That franchise did a poor job which was revealed when contractors I hired opened the walls during a kitchen renovation - it was discovered that large sections had never been filled at all. When I called the company, I learned that the particular franchise had gone out of business. Thankfully, the current franchise owner who is based out of Ohio and now covering my area — stepped in and made everything right. Even though they weren’t responsible for the original work, they came to my home, confirmed the issue, and fixed it at no cost to me. That level of accountability and integrity is rare, and it deserves to be recognized. If you’ve seen older negative reviews about missing insulation in this region, please know those are about the former franchise, which is no longer in business. The new ownership has absolutely nothing to do with those problems — and my experience with them has been nothing but positive. Highly recommend this team. They care, they follow through, and they’re doing things the right way. I also highly recommend the service in general as I could feel the difference immediately (even when the walls were half filled it was a huge difference, and now it's even better).

Columbia City insulation is awesome and crew does great work. Not only were they reasonably priced, but Mike and their crew understand actual building science and attics not just theoretical norms. Would use again. Also one of the few insulation companies around not owned by a larger entity which is nice to see.

They insulated my pole barn and we're very efficient and helpful during both the prep and the actual insulating. I would definitely recommend them if you need insulation in the Columbia City or Fort Wayne area.

We requested an energy audit to help deduce why certain rooms in our house were so much colder than others. Aaron was able to pinpoint the issue and directed us toward a course of action to solve it. Friendly and professional, Momper comes highly recommended on our end.

Colleen Fodrey★★★★★3 years ago

We had our attic and a freezing cold closet insulated by Momper. They spent nearly 5 hours insulating our attic and a freezing cold closet with just minimal paneling that was making the whole house cold. Our house was built in 1952 so it had not been insulated well at all. I cannot believe how awesome it is now and I’m looking forward to seeing my bills go down. They laid plastic down and cleaned everything up when they were done with a shop vac. Shout out to Dave and Luis for their great work!

couldn't help but be thankful for Momper Insulation this morning knowing it was 6 degrees on the other side of the wall and I was cozy on the inside! -Great company -Great leadership!

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Fort Wayne

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Fort Wayne?
Homeowners in mixed climates like Fort Wayne, IN typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Fort Wayne?
For most homes in Fort Wayne, IN, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost?
Spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your location. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic costs $2,000–$6,000. Most homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor?
Look for contractors who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
