Innovative Insualtion Solutions are the best. They sprayed closed cell foam in our open attic spaces. Communication prior to the project beginning from the office regarding timing and how the job would go was excellent. The crew sent over to my home were even better. They communicated well, showed up on time each day and were respectful of my home...three things that I, as a small business owner, can really appreciate. The owner, Richard Spies, also showed up onsite to make sure all was well and to answer any questions that I had. A really great experience from start to finish. I would highly recommend them for any insulation work needed in your home.

Great communication, easy scheduling, fair pricing. Richard was great to work with and his team was friendly, clean, and efficient. We got 3 quotes for insulation and thIs was by far the most reasonable. We saw the difference in our energy needs almost immediately - we would keep the thermostat at 73 and our bedroom upstairs would not get warmer than 68. After the insulation was added the room temp is exactly what we set the thermostat to. Glad we did this before winter began. Would definitely recommend this company to friends and family.

We had an outstanding experience with Green Attic. They JUST completed mold remediation, corrected our venting issues, and installed new insulation and every part of the process was handled professionally and thoroughly. The crew was friendly, efficient, and clearly took pride in their work. Beyond the quality of the work, we felt very comfortable having them in our home. They were respectful and courteous. What impressed us most was their attention to the cleanup. After such an extensive project, they left our home spotless. You would never know they had just completed major attic work. Most companies are not that thorough. We truly appreciate their workmanship, professionalism, and care for our home. Highly recommend Green Attic!

From the initial quote to the install, Green Attic, was accommodating and fast. Frank came out on May 20 and squeezed up into the attic space. Found black mold on the rafters from poor ventilation due to a broken fan. I appreciated his honesty and recommendations. Ten days later, Edgar and his crew (Omar and Rigoberto) arrived. They did a great job remediating the black mold in the attic, adding thick insulation, baffles and replacing the attic fan with a solar powered fan for continuous attic air exchange. When they finished, Edgar showed me the final air flow and his crew were very respectful of the property, cleaning and tidying up the work area. I would recommend Green Attic to anyone needing mold remidiation and insulation.

We had four Green Attic workers involved over our three day project. The first day Alvaro & Jeff worked diligently at completing the mold remediation and insulation installation. They were polite, hard working and respectful of our home. The second day, Mario completed the initial mudding & sanding of the installation holes. Then on the third day, Mario and Sammy completed the final sanding and the opening of the soffit vents. These two men were also hard working and respectful of our property. The entire job went smoothly and comfortably.

We used Reubens spray foam for our pole building. Julian was very prompt and responsive. they came out immediately for the estimate. After a very fair price was given the crews came out and spray foamed our pole building walls. And also did blown-in fiberglass for the ceiling. They guys were top-notch. Highly recommend!!

Highly recommend Rubens Spray Insulation! We needed to have two walk-in attic spaces and a portion of ceiling between them spray-foamed. There was a 5 month gap between when Julian came out for an estimate and when the work was actually completed because we were waiting for another project to finish up first, and they were responsive and understanding the whole time. The guys who did our work were excellent - super nice, professional, and did a wonderful job. The quality of work is fantastic and we noticed an *immediate* difference in terms of how well our house retained heat. Thanks guys!

USA Insulation came out and blew in the pink stuff up to R49. The crew arrived on time, was professional and very thorough with what they were going to do before starting, communicating during of their progress and then a 'show and tell' after the work was completed. Cleanup afterwards let my house cleaner than before they showed up and only took them around 1 1/2 - 2hrs from start to finish (for a 1425 sq ft attic). The entire process, from start to finish, exceeded my satisfaction and we will most certainly be recommending USA Insulation to our friends and family.

I previously used USA Insulation and was totally satisfied. When another area of my home needed insulating it was a no brainer to contact them. The second time around even better results, Jose and Jason did an outstanding job!

The garage is now easily heated with a basic space heater. Insects can’t move within the walls so have noticed a more insect free space. Problem is they spackled in too low of temperatures, now looks bad and ceiling pieces fall out easier They came out again to fix but they said it was spackled and they only do that once as per agreement. Maybe give me the option to wait and spackle in proper temperatures would be good because we want to paint. Better then 3 stars I give 3.5 😀

Have used Chicagoland Sprayfoam multiple times for various projects. They’re honest, respectful of clients needs and thorough with their work. Would definitely use again. They’re extremely busy but worth the wait IMO.

Called a few times and left a message but no answer. Drove to the address from Northbrook because it says they close at 6pm and I arrive to a residence. No business advertisement and no answer at the door.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Hoffman Estates

These are the questions Hoffman Estates homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 35% typical energy savings. Compare the 6 verified Hoffman Estates contractors above for exact quotes.

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Hoffman Estates?▼
Homeowners in mixed climates like Hoffman Estates, IL typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Hoffman Estates?▼
For most homes in Hoffman Estates, IL, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Hoffman Estates, IL?▼
In Hoffman Estates, IL and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Hoffman Estates costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Hoffman Estates homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Hoffman Estates, IL?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Hoffman Estates, IL, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Hoffman Estates contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Hoffman Estates for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
