Found him here on Google. Very friendly, professional, fast, and left no mess. In and out in two hours, bringing our 1500 square foot house up to code. He also helped us work with TVA to get a rebate. Best prices I could find in the area. They even worked quietly enough that none of our kids woke up from their nap. Could not recommend him more.

Contacted volunteer insulation to estimate doing a new construction house for insulation. Desmond came out on 1 day for estimate told all materials needed. Told me he would take care of picking all supplies up and ready to install on a certain day. Before sun was up he was at the house. Seems like before lunch he was done with all walls and allot of walls he started early and stayed late and my home was done before he left. He was more excited to get my house done before I was. I would highly suggest Volunteer insulation to anyone. Very knowledgeable on estimating and the actual install. Cleaned everything up. Very pleased. And his pricing is on point. I had 3 estimate and I took the middle one. My guys have told to get the busy one if you can. So I did. Thank you Desmond if you have any clients that want to see mine or talk to me. Please contact me be more than welcome to.

Desmond did an excellent job on insulating my sunroom and providing a moisture barrier. Best prices and best work by far. He was very efficient, thorough and cleaned up behind himself. I would highly recommend and definitely use Desmond again for any work I needed done.

From the start, we received great communication, well-presented explanation of project start and completion from Shaun Lovern. The Spray Foam crew were exceptionally polite and got to work right away. The crew also communicated well regarding spray foam details in our structure. The inside of the garage and shed looks really great. I would definitely use this company again. Thanks for a job well done Knoxville Accu-Coat!

I contacted Shaun to get some information and a quote for spray foam (metal building) and couldn’t be happier with the results. Everyone was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. The installers, David and Grissom, did an awesome job from prep work to cleanup. I would do business with them again and recommend this company.

I highly recommend Accu-Coat West Jefferson for spray foam insulation as they provided a very competitive price and were willing to work with me on schedule and scope. Mike Draper and Chad Sheets were my installers and couldn't be happier with them. They started early as I was told they would and didn't waste any time prepping the site by putting up plastic sheeting while their machine is heating the components. After they were done they did a great job cleaning up taking all the plastic with them like they weren't ever there. Only evidence that they were there is a generously/evenly coated surface of spray foam. Thanks again.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Maryville

Below are common questions Maryville, TN homeowners ask about spray foam insulation cost, types, and installation. For local pricing and to compare verified contractors in Maryville, browse the listings above.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Maryville?
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Maryville, TN, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in TN see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Maryville?
In mixed-humid climates like Maryville, TN, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in TN's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Maryville, TN?
In Maryville, TN and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Maryville costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Maryville homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Maryville, TN?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Maryville, TN, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Maryville contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Maryville for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
