Sol Spray Foam Insulation company went above and beyond in every aspect of our project. They are all consummate professionals. Sean Carroll and his crew were amazing and did a professional job. They did everything as described and when they left, it was as if they were never even here. I would recommend them and will be having them come back for additional projects in the future.

We had an appointment with Sean Carroll this morning to discuss options for foam insulation. Sean advised us that we would benefit from a different procedure rather than foam. Thank you Sean for being upfront and honest with us. We appreciated his friendly customer service. Gerry Q.

If I could leave 10 stars I would. This company came highly recommended by our framer. Dave was straight forward with his quotes and all communication, his guys came when scheduled, and they did an excellent job. His guys were polite, neat, and worked very quickly. They protected our windows and cleaned up everything before they left, you wouldn't even know they were there. Look no further than Insul-Tech Energy Solutions for your spray foaming needs. It's not often you find a company that is the best at what they do, and they are the best price. Seriously, don't even bother getting other quotes!

Foam guy and son did a 100% fantastic job on our residential remodel. We got a couple different quotes and glad we went with them, because these guys are the real deal. I just wanted to let you both know that my wife and I just got up here and everything looks just like you said, perfect. I also wanted to let you know that when I originally spoke to you the first time about using spray foam, we knew if there was anyone to trust doing the job it would be your company. Thank you both again. I absolutely recommend this company!!

I had Standard H&C install a new furnace for me on 10/27/2025. It was a great experience dealing with both their office and the 2 workmen who did the installation. Isaiah and Elijah worked efficiently and finished the whole job in about 6 hours. They were both pleasant to work with and extremely polite. It was a pleasure to have Standard H&C do work in my house. I just can’t say that about other companies I have had in the past. I also had Standard perform a routine check on my air conditioning in August/Sept which prompted me to have them do my furnace. I will continue to use them going forward.

Fantastic work thank you very much for our attic bump up. We replaced baffles and added insulation. Our home was lacking baffles and did not have enough insulation. It was broad daylight up there. Just seeing the attic actually being dark and ventilated is amazing. Our Home is better insulated from just hours of finishing. The thermostat dropped immediately. Professional and timely team.

We hired a horrible HVAC contractor (who we broke ties with) who subcontracted the work to these guys. While the head two guys in charge knew what they were doing, the other workers for the most part seemed like they didn’t want to be there. They also took a whole bunch of my boxes that they were using as floor protection. This isn’t a huge deal obviously but what kind of company doesn’t bring their own floor protection and then takes the owners when they leave the job site…weird and unprofessional.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Saratoga Springs

These are the questions Saratoga Springs homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 35% typical energy savings. Compare the 6 verified Saratoga Springs contractors above for exact quotes.

How much can spray foam insulation save on heating and cooling bills in Saratoga Springs?▼
Homeowners in mixed climates like Saratoga Springs, NY typically see 20–30% reductions in total energy costs after spray foam installation. The savings come from both reduced heating in winter and reduced cooling in summer. The exact savings depend on your home's current insulation, size, and local energy rates, but most homeowners recoup the investment within 3–6 years.
Is spray foam better than fiberglass insulation for homes in Saratoga Springs?▼
For most homes in Saratoga Springs, NY, spray foam outperforms fiberglass significantly. Fiberglass batts insulate but do not air seal — meaning conditioned air still escapes through gaps. Spray foam both insulates and creates an airtight seal, addressing the root cause of energy loss. While spray foam costs more upfront, the performance difference in mixed climates makes it the better long-term investment for most homeowners.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Saratoga Springs, NY?▼
In Saratoga Springs, NY and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Saratoga Springs costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Saratoga Springs homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Saratoga Springs, NY?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Saratoga Springs, NY, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Saratoga Springs contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Saratoga Springs for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
