WOW is all I can say. Just finished attic insulation today, in Concord. Already noticed that the house feels cooler, and the AC isn't running constantly. This is fantastic, and I'm so glad I chose the solar attic fan in conjunction with the spray foam insulation. In just a few short hours, since your crew, which was a wonderful group of gentlemen, has left, there has been a noticeable change. They arrived and appeared to be finished in an hour or so, at least that is what I perceived. The AC hasn't been running continuously for the past four to five hours. This is a great relief, because I know that the AC isn't working as hard.

We had Spray Foam Insulation Solutions of Concord insulate our garage, and they did a great job. The space now stays much cooler during the day. The only reason for 4 stars is that the team arrived a bit late, but they made up for it with excellent work!

True professionals! The Insulation Commandos team got to our home quickly when we were in a pinch, quoted a very competitive price compared to others, did a great job with the work, and left the place spotless. And communication from start to finish was amazing. We had a wonderful experience with Simon and his team and will absolutely use them again! Highly recommend!

One of the options provided by my Duke Energy Home Energy Report. Standard Insulating Company were very easy to work with, honest about the services I needed and also provided them at a great cost. The original technician was not pushy at all and was clearly there to help me and walk me through what I needed and didn't need and provided good dialogue throughout the process. My actual appointment was very easy to schedule, the workers showed up early and got the work done very quick. I had a heat barrier added, my insulation up to code and they also added a cover over my attic access. Highly recommend working with them for any insulation needs!

The team was precise, kind, and incredibly thorough. They followed up with me at every stage, making sure my needs were understood and fully met. I truly appreciate their professionalism and attention to detail. Highly recommend

We are so happy we chose USA Insulation to reinsulate our attic and seal our duct work. We shopped around a bit and found them to be the most comprehensive and affordable. Everyone we spoke with from quote, to scheduling, to service was very professional, responsive, and kind. They found an issue when they came to give an estimate and sent someone out first thing to resolve it before our actual service date. It definitely saved us a lot of $ on heating and air. Nicole was super helpful with scheduling. Conner and team did a great job and made sure everything was sparkling clean before they left. They were very kind to our dogs, too! Our house is noticeably much cooler after they sealed everything up and added insulation. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience doing business with USA Insulation. I got the reference from the Duke Energy website, and from the initial visit for the estimation through the service execution, the crew was truly professional and polite. They executed the service quickly and with great quality for a fair price. I strongly recommend doing business with them!

My husband and I used this company to put new gutters on our older home and we were extremely unsatisfied. The first red flag came when they showed up unannounced. Later that day, after they packed up and left, my husband and I walked around the house to check out our new gutters; as we were walking around, we noticed a piece of our siding was broken behind one of the downspouts. Luckily, we had an extra piece so we replaced it ourselves. Also, we found nails and screws all over our yard, driveway, and in the street. We spent about 30 minutes picking up after them so we (and our neighbors) wouldn't get flat tires on our lawn mower or vehicles. My husband took the ladder out to take a closer look at the gutters and noticed the fascia board (the wood that the gutters attach to) is rotten in a bunch of places which is very concerning. Pender and Pettus should have called us to let us know we needed our wood replaced before putting brand new gutters on. After all this was done, my husband emailed the man who was helping us to let him know of these concerns. We never received an email or phone call back. At the very least we should have got an apology or an email expressing how Pender and Pettus is sorry that we weren't satisfied or how they would address our concerns. I would highly encourage people to NOT use this company. Maybe they are good with new construction but I would not trust them on my home ever again.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Concord

These are the questions Concord homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 33% typical energy savings. Compare the 5 verified Concord contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Concord?▼
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Concord, NC, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in NC see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Concord?▼
In mixed-humid climates like Concord, NC, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in NC's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Concord, NC?▼
In Concord, NC and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Concord costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Concord homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Concord, NC?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Concord, NC, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Concord contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Concord for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
