This company went above and beyond what I expected. Oliver started by thoroughly inspecting the attic and outlining the actions required for attic upkeep. The air quality significantly improved once the attic was cleaned. They made sure there were no unforeseen issues with their thorough mold examination. Professional mold cleaning was done as necessary. Oliver was effective and on time. I'm really happy with how much nicer the attic looks now.

I hired 1G Services & Roofing Services for attic cleaning after years of neglect. Carter did an exceptional job explaining the process and making sure everything was done correctly. Since they’re also an experienced Roofing Contractor, he checked our shingles and gutters for leaks. During inspection, Carter found hidden mold near the vent, so they quickly handled the mold remediation with great care. The Gas fireplace cleaning made our home smells great. I appreciate their honesty and fair pricing. Highly recommend this company for any home maintenance needs.

1G Services gave exceptional service from start to finish. I scheduled an attic inspection, and they identified several insulation and ventilation issues. Their attic cleaning process was detailed, removing dust, pests, and old insulation safely. My home's consistent temperature was greatly improved by the high quality attic insulation they installed in its place. They strengthened weak spots and fixed leaks in their roofing, which was equally impressive. The team was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. I value their openness regarding costs and the materials they used. Now my house feels like new! The business to contact if you're searching for reliable attic insulation, attic cleaning, and roofing specialists is 1G Services.

My parents had work done by ABC Dry Foam and I must say they provide exceptional service overall. Any questions we had, they were always answered promptly, very attentive and walked us through each step of the way during this process. The house looks even better than before, and we are all very pleased. Anthony and Joey were friendly and always on top of things. We highly recommend this company for any of your restoration needs.

I could not get the quantity of insulation I needed from any of the big box stores without waiting for months. I went online and ordered from Insulation4US. I did not get an order confirmation email with order number which made me a little nervous. However, I received an email 2 days later saying my product would ship in 2 days. After 4 days I still had not received the product. I called and spoke with a pleasant sales person that said there was a shipping issue and it would ship out in 3 days. As promised, my insulation arrived when she said it would. It was a week late, but better than months late. I would order from this company again.

Terrible experience. Roofing4US operates under another name too. I found a great deal on greenhouse H-channels on their website, but when I requested a quote, it was over $100 more than the email qouted price. The shipping cost was outrageous! So, I decided to buy directly from the website. My mistake was calling back Gary Egan and being upfront with the pricing discrepancy, who provided the quote—I mentioned that it was cheaper to buy online through their own site. The next day, he emailed me stating they couldn't honor the online price that i had already purchased the items and that it would cost about $150 more. They refunded me but What a dishonest company—if they can't stand by their own prices, especially when the error is on their end. LOST CUSTOMER and LOST FUTURE BUSINESS!

Jenna Pfeiffera year ago

Spent nearly three weeks contacting them for a quote and haven’t been able to get ahold of anybody but the same guy from customer service. Although he’s a pleasure to talk to and seems genuinely concerned I can’t get a call back, he’s done nothing but take my messages and tell me he’s sorry. He did provide me with an email address which I emailed and again received no response. At this point I no longer wish to order from them anyways but I figured I should warn others about them too.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Wilmington

These are the questions Wilmington homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 33% typical energy savings. Compare the 4 verified Wilmington contractors above for exact quotes.

Is spray foam insulation a good investment in Wilmington?
For homes in mixed-humid climates like Wilmington, DE, spray foam is typically an excellent investment. The combination of hot summers, cold winters, and significant humidity means your home faces insulation challenges year-round. Spray foam addresses all three — providing thermal insulation in both seasons while controlling moisture infiltration. Most homeowners in DE see payback periods of 4–7 years. As with any tight building envelope, ensure your home has adequate mechanical ventilation to manage interior moisture.
How does humidity affect spray foam insulation performance in Wilmington?
In mixed-humid climates like Wilmington, DE, moisture management is as important as thermal performance. Closed-cell spray foam acts as a Class II vapor retarder, preventing moisture from infiltrating walls and attics where it causes mold and structural damage. This dual function — insulation plus moisture control — is why spray foam outperforms traditional insulation options in DE's climate. However, because the building envelope becomes tightly sealed, proper mechanical ventilation is strongly recommended to allow interior moisture from daily activities to escape without losing conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Wilmington, DE?
In Wilmington, DE and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Wilmington costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Wilmington homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Wilmington, DE?
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Wilmington, DE, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Wilmington contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Wilmington for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
