The came by and did my attic space. Absolutely phenomenal work. They were very open and honest about the options and what was actually required to be effective. There are no heat vents in my attic. Today it was 9 degrees F outside and 60 degrees in the attic. I think it's safe to say it's doing its job. Would highly recommend!
Our contractor recommended that we use closed cell spray foam insulation to help solve the problem with ice damming that had caused extensive damage to 3 rooms of our house. Although, we had the best insurance plan with our company - full replacement at today's market value - it took several years of fighting them to get our claim settled. As a result, we had to undergo mold mitigation. Since our walls and ceilings were stripped down to the studs and rafters because of this, new insulation was going to be required. I received 4 quotes and decided to use Buffalo Spray Foam Insulation, a smaller company than the rest. Zach Miller is the owner, which has been in business for 5 years. He personally comes out to do the work himself. He had worked for one of the firms from which we had received a quote and told us he had learned a great deal during his time there. I didn't use that company because they were insisting on using open cell spray foam, which is not what was needed. Zach also took many classes and is certified in the closed cell process. I was impressed by his knowledge and explanation of both the product and the process to us. He was able to get the work done in a timely manner, which was important to me. One of the companies had a 12-week waiting period. The application is messy and has an odor. All the rooms were sealed, ventilated, and belongings were covered. Afterwards, all the rooms were thoroughly cleaned. We were able to stay in our house the entire time. They arrived promptly at 8 a.m. and were finished by 1:30. I was told to leave windows open afterwards to remove any remaining odors, which I did. The next day, there was a slightly fishy smell in my house and I contacted Zach to see if this was due to the foam. He said it probably was and to continue to leave windows open. If that didn't work, he would bring large fans out to help. It wasn't necessary because the smell was gone the next day. However, Zach followed up on his own to make sure that we weren't experiencing any more odor. Not only were his prices the most reasonable (Spray foam is more expensive than traditional fiberglass batting.), his personalized attention to every detail was impressive. The end result is outstanding. Zach told me that this was his company and he tried to do things as he would want them done in his own home since it was his name on the business. For many of the "big firms," this is just another job. For Buffalo Spray Foam Insulation, it's personal and that makes all the difference in the world! I couldn't give them a higher recommendation!
the Owner, Zach, was very personable, flexible, and easy to work with! I had alot of questions about the install process and which specific products were being used and he was always made himself available when needed to answer them. He was very communicative every step of the way: From the time of him coming out to do the original bid, to scheduling the job and his crew coming out to perform the work. I had a couple scheduling issues on my end due to prior work not being completed when it was supposed to be and he was very flexible to work around that. Day of install went great and very pleased with the result. Joey, the installer, you can tell takes his profession seriously and is very dedicated to his craft. He had a high attention to the details which was great to see. You could tell by his application process and the result that he is very skilled at what he does and has been in the trade for quite some time. Their prep work and cleanup was especially good. They left the area as clean as when they started and were careful with the prep work to cover windows and any exposed plumbing or other fixtures that could not get spray foam on. There was a hairline crack in my upstairs wall where they were working that no one noticed and when they filled the wall in with foam a tiny bit of overspray went through the crack and speckled and old piece of furniture in my sitting room below. Joey the installer, informed me and was very apologetic. I told him it wasn't a big deal and wasn't worried about it at all but thanked him for letting me know. I then later received a call directly from Zach the owner to touch base about the situation which I didn't expect. He offered to replace the couch or do whatever was needed to correct the mistake. Again, none of that was necessary but I did appreciate the call and him offering to fix the situation... I feel like that is hard to come by from contractors nowadays! That made me as a client feel valued and went a long way to show his integrity as a business owner and caring about upholding a good reputation and name. Zach, the owner then came out again after the work was completed to collect payment and check/inspect his crews work to make sure it was up to his standard. He even left me with 4 cans of touch up spray foam and a gun, at no cost. for other areas of my house I could seal up that wasnt part of the area they were contracted to do. Again, a nice gesture that I appreciated. I would definitely recommend Buffalo Spray Foam to anyone that needs spray foam done!!
