Honest Review – 2026 Experience (PLEASE READ) I chose to delete my previous negative review because, after further reflection and communication, I realized the issue stemmed from an internal breakdown that had not yet reached the owner’s attention. This is my updated and honest review. I believe in giving credit where it’s due. While my experience with Sensigreen HVAC started off frustrating, the owner demonstrated true leadership by stepping in personally to resolve the matter. The problem wasn’t just the HVAC work itself, it was that the line of communication within Sensigreen had been discontinued. My concerns were not properly escalated through the chain of command. Once the owner became aware of the situation, he quickly repaired that communication breakdown and committed to redoing the work the right way. How do I know, my neighbor informed me he had received a positive result afterwards. That action is making all the difference especially in restoring confidence within our community. I now feel VALUED as a customer. Not only is my HVAC system on the road to recovery, but the owner also refunded my expenses, including consideration for the time I invested throughout this process. That removed the FEAR and frustration I had been carrying. We are all subject to mistakes. What truly matters is how those mistakes are handled and corrected. Accountability, responsiveness, and integrity speak louder than perfection ever could. As a conduit of God, I understand that ultimate trust belongs to God alone. I do not place any company on that level. However, I do respect and appreciate owners who operate with responsibility, humility, and a commitment to make things right. Thank you for your timely and professional response. I sincerely pray I will not have to revisit or revise this review again.

I had a new heat pump, thermostat, and ductwork installed. The guys were here bright and early and by that afternoon I had a new unit and I was warm and cozy. Very professional and courteous. They seemed to work very well together. And, they cleaned up everything! I am beyond pleased with the entire service they provided.

Francisco and his team were awesome! They are extremely professional and I would recommend their services to anyone seeking spray insulation services. I typically get 3 quotes from different companies before I have work completed at my home. However, Francisco stopped by my house as the first quote and after experiencing his professional attitude and efforts to provide great prices, I looked no further and immediately decided I would use his company to complete my requirements. His team accomplished spray insulation on the ceilings and all walls in my 18x22 garage. They also painted the ceiling black. It all looks great. Highly recommend his company!!!

The quality of service was excellent. The job was outstanding I would recommend Southern Valley Installation & Moisture Control to anyone. Mr Francisco stayed in contact with use throughout the entire work process. His employees were very professional and accommodating. I would highly recommend that you call Southern Valley for any encapsulation that your home might need. We are breathing clean air throughout our home because of this service. We have lived at our home for 38 years and it had so much debris under the crawl space, we were totally shocked with the before pictures and the completed job which was outstanding!!! His price was very reasonable and affordable compared to other companies that had given us quotes. His company will be responsible for all workmanship that is not up to standards.Thank you again for the great job your company did at our home. Mr. Francisco came highly recommended from family and friends.

Francisco very quickly responded to my online query and to schedule the initial visit to see our latest home improvement project. Afterwards, he was always quick to respond to the numerous questions I had regarding the product and his quotes. His timeline for starting the job was within two to three weeks of signing the agreement and we were delighted that he was able to move us up a few days ahead of schedule. Francisco and his crew showed up after confirming the time frame the day before and within 30 minutes of arriving. Small priorities (I know!) that let customers know their time is important too. He and his crew of three were Amazing! They taped off all the windows, doors and walls to protect from overspray and worked diligently (without breaks) until the job was done (about 4-5 hours). We are very happy with the closed cell spray foam. I’ve attached some photos of before/after. Although, it’s still a work in progress. We’ve got a bonus room above a garage that’s next on our list to renovate and will be sure to call on Francisco and his crew again. If your reading this and wondering if Southern Valley insulation is a good contractor for your next project, I would highly recommend them!

ifoam was great. Matthew was very knowledgeable and got our new home insulated with closed cell. This was last year now and the home has been incredibly efficient through the heat and cold. It was our first house with foam and it made a big difference. Install team was very professional as well.

I am very happy with my iFoam from start to finish. Tim did a great job inspecting my attics. He crawled around around every inch and clearly explained what was going on and my options. In one area that was not accesable he was able to cut 3 small holes in the ceiling and to spray foam in. Did a great job of patching the holes. Install crew was professional, efficient, fast, and cleand up area well. Did a good job vaccuuming out the old dusty, dirty insulation. Attic is much cooler now. I highly recommend them.

Frequently Asked Questions — Spray Foam Insulation in Madison

These are the questions Madison homeowners ask most about spray foam cost, R-value, and open- vs. closed-cell foam — with context for local pricing and roughly 27% typical energy savings. Compare the 3 verified Madison contractors above for exact quotes.

Does spray foam insulation work well in hot dry climates like Madison?▼
Yes — spray foam is highly effective in hot dry climates like Madison, AL. While moisture control is less of a concern than in humid climates, the air sealing properties are critical for keeping hot desert air out and cooled air in. In extreme heat climates, an unsealed attic can reach 150°F+, dramatically increasing AC load. Spray foam in the attic can reduce attic temperatures by 30–40°F.
What is the best area of my home to insulate in Madison?▼
In hot dry climates like Madison, AL, the attic is typically the highest-impact area to spray foam insulate. Desert sun heats roofs to extreme temperatures, and an uninsulated attic transfers that heat directly into your living space. After the attic, crawl spaces and rim joists are the next highest-impact areas. A local contractor can perform an energy audit to identify where your home loses the most conditioned air.
Is spray foam insulation worth the cost?▼
For most homeowners, yes. Spray foam creates an air-tight seal that traditional insulation cannot match, reducing energy bills by 15–35% annually. It also adds structural rigidity, acts as a moisture and vapor barrier, reduces outside noise, and can increase home resale value. The higher upfront cost compared to fiberglass is typically recovered within 3–7 years. One important note: because spray foam creates a very tight building envelope, proper mechanical ventilation is important to maintain healthy indoor air quality and prevent interior moisture buildup. This is typically handled by an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) — a system that brings fresh outside air in while pushing stale air out, recovering the energy from the outgoing air so you don't waste what you paid to heat or cool — or a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV), which works similarly but is optimized for cold climates. A qualified contractor will assess whether your home needs ventilation upgrades as part of the installation.
How much does spray foam insulation cost in Madison, AL?▼
In Madison, AL and the surrounding area, spray foam insulation typically costs $1.00–$3.00 per square foot installed, depending on the type and your home's specifics. Open-cell foam runs $0.44–$0.65 per board foot, while closed-cell foam costs $1.00–$2.00 per board foot. A typical 2,000 sq ft home attic in Madison costs $2,000–$6,000. Most Madison homeowners recoup this investment within 3–7 years through energy savings of 15–35% annually.
What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam?▼
Open-cell spray foam is softer, less dense, and less expensive. It expands significantly and is ideal for interior walls, attics, and soundproofing. Closed-cell spray foam is denser, stronger, and provides a moisture barrier — making it better for exterior applications, crawl spaces, and areas prone to flooding or humidity. Closed-cell also has a higher R-value per inch (R-6 to R-7 vs R-3.5 to R-4 for open-cell). One key difference: open-cell foam allows some vapor movement, while closed-cell acts as a vapor barrier — an important consideration for your home's ventilation needs.
How long does spray foam insulation last?▼
Spray foam insulation is one of the most durable insulation options available, with a lifespan of 80+ years when properly installed. Unlike fiberglass batting which can sag and settle over time, spray foam maintains its shape and insulating properties indefinitely. It will typically outlast the building it is installed in.
How do I find a qualified spray foam insulation contractor in Madison, AL?▼
When searching for a spray foam contractor in Madison, AL, look for ones who are licensed, insured, and have verifiable reviews. Spray foam requires specialized equipment and training — improper installation can cause off-gassing, adhesion failure, or fire hazards. Ask for references, verify their insurance, and get at least 2–3 quotes. A qualified Madison contractor will also assess your home's ventilation needs — a tightly sealed spray foam installation requires adequate mechanical ventilation to prevent moisture and indoor air quality issues. FoamMatch pre-screens all listed contractors in Madison for licensing and insurance so you can compare verified professionals in your area.
How long does spray foam installation take?▼
Most residential spray foam jobs take 1–2 days depending on the size of the area. A standard attic takes 4–8 hours. After spraying, the foam cures within 24 hours, though most contractors recommend waiting 24–72 hours before occupying the space due to off-gassing during the curing process.
Does spray foam insulation need to be replaced?▼
No — spray foam insulation does not need to be replaced under normal circumstances. Unlike fiberglass insulation which degrades over time, spray foam maintains its R-value and air sealing properties for the life of the building. The only reasons to remove or replace spray foam are water damage, renovation work, or improper original installation.
